Got to work, running good, about the only thing I'm having trouble with is the idle, started scoot and idle seem low, adjust idle to about 1800, then it seems to go too high get the red light idle is about 21, at work as it idled, turn down to 1800 again. What could it be?

Well after they get hot the IDLE will rise a little above what you set it at. So maybe set it to 1600 and after it gets hot it should drop below 2000K. Alleyoop

Thanks Alleyoop, I'll try that. I just notice the idle high pulling in to work and the scooter still seem engaged trying to go after I had it stop.

When you have time at home. On the center stand, start engine. Allow to run until it heats up and settles down to what ever speed it wants. I like to wait long enough for the engine to be at road temps. On my machine I have water cooling so I wait till the fan has come on before I start to make adjustments. Then check the idle and reset till the rear wheel just starts to spin. Then back down till the wheel stops spinning. It is a feel for the right place to be.
Make an adjustment and wait for a bit too allow the machine to decide what it wants to do. Make another small adjustment and wait again. Going too fast with carb adjustments does not give the machine time to settle down. .

Thanks Bob I know I'm all over the place with my adjustments I just notice with my scoot, the idle doesn't seem to react quickly to the adjustment since I've bought is used, I've never totally cleaned the carb jets and all had it off once to adjust float, maybe its about time to clean all. BTW mine is watered cooled also

Alleyoop, adjust a/f 1/4 leaner last night, start maybe a little better, as I road to work it got worse, trying to cut out and the idle was rougher, (I'd stop and scoot wanted to take off) got to work adjust my a/f to be richer about 1/2 turn, seemed to fix it. Maybe I was running too lean,

WEll here is the thing, when you adjust the FUEL RATIO as your adjusting it YOU WANT TO GET THE HIGHEST IDLE out of it. SO WHICHEVER way you turn it 1/4 turns at a time LISTEN TO THE IDLE or TACH if you have a tach on it and After you turn it IF THE IDLE GOES UP that is what you want. So from where it is currently at, FIRST Turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE 1/4 turn and see if the IDLE DOES: A. If the IDLE GOES UP your going the right way it wants a RICHER mixture. B. If the IDLE DOES NOTHING or DROPS It wants a LEANER mixture SO turn it CLOCKWISE:
You do this 1/4 turns at a time listening to the IDLE and or TACH and if the IDLE keeps going up you keep turning it 1/4 turn. NOW AFTER EACH 1/4 TURN you HAVE TO WAIT about 10 seconds or so to ALLOW THE MOTOR TO CATCH UP WITH THE NEW SETTING.
ON one of the 1/4 turns the IDLE MAY DO NOTHING OR START TO DROP a LITTLE when that HAPPENS then you TURN IT THE OTHERWAY either 1/4 turn OR 1/8 turn and that should be your highest idle out of the FUEL RATIO SCREW. Now you have to MOST LIKELY LOWER the IDLE using the IDLE SPEED SCREW you turn that COUNTER CLOCKWISE to lower the IDLE down to where the REAR WHEEL IS NOT SPINNING and is idleing the smoothest. After I adjust back the other way richer, it fired quick, then adjust idle and waited until rear wheel stop, man it ran terrible coing to work, didn't know if I was going to make it. hoprfully its fix now.

It may be your the NEEDLE in the DIAPHGRAM, I believe you said you set it on the richest Which means you PUT THE CLIP ON THE LOWEST SLOT. So now that you ALSO richened the MIXTURE you are getting to much fuel after you start to go. SO MOVE THE CLIP to the MIDDLE SLOT that will take some fuel and LEAN it out after you start to move out.
***** You always want to start with the needle in the MIDDLE, Adjust the Fuel Ratio to get the HIGHEST idle out of it and then lower your IDLE SPEED if you have to using the IDLE SPEED SCREW. THEN if cranking on it going 20-40 or so it is not good THAT IS when you want to change the NEEDLE AND ONLY 1 SLOT at a time.
And it is very easy to check if it is LEAN OR RICH once you are moving out. If it starts to bog or sputter or whatever, DO THIS-- BACK OFF THE THROTTLE about 1/4 OF AN INCH AND HOLD IT THERE. Now pay attention to what the scoot does: A. IF it SPEEDS UP it is LEAN B. IF it sputters or hesitates or JUST SETTLES DOWN but does not speed up IT IS RICH.
And with that INFORMATION you NOW know which way to move the CLIP on the needle. IF IT IS "A" above you want to MOVE THE CLIP 1 SLOT DOWN FROM CENTER(RICHER). IF IT IS "B" above you want to MOVE THE CLIP 1 SLOT UP FROM CENTER(LEANER). Alleyoop

It seem to speed up when back off throttle, soon as I stop I gave a quick rev and it calmed down, I'll move that clip sometime tonight or when I get home (thanks alleyoop)

COOL!! move the clip to the CENTER it might just be right on. But if it still acts up check it out like I said and that will tell you what you need to do. Alleyoop
