Pull the variator and make sure the weights didn't shift when you slid the inner pulley and ramp on the boss. Second, pull the clutch bell and inspect the pads, arms, and springs. Many times when a belt goes you have a catastrophic clutch failure.

Does your variator have a washer between the two pulleys? If so that's a restrictor and can be removed.
Do not put BBs in the variator.
The heavier weights push harder on the inner pulley and theoretically get you more top end. However, if the engine isn't powerful enough it simply cannot handle the higher ratio. Therefore, it's self limiting and the engine can't get enough RPM to push the pulley all the way out. You would know this because your RPMs would be less at WOT but the top end would be the same or actually lower. This would be dependent on your variator not being restricted. My impression is that it is restricted and I see no difference in the amount of belt travel.

I use one like this on my bike's with a rear rack. Don't buy a mounting mechanism, just use zip ties. They will save you a fortune!

I rode a friends V5 for quite a while and I have the same engine in a Fashion scooter. You can adjust the needle in the carb to give it a little more gas but you'll need to increase the air some too. Move the clip on the needle down one notch and it will increase the gas input. You'll need to get a little more air in and you can do that by drilling a 1/2" hole in the air box. Then check your plug after running a good while, if it's bare, it needs more gas and move the needle clip down again. If it's too rich it will be black and it needs more air, drill a bigger hole.

Sounds great Jack, that should fit in nicely with KZ's ride. I'll go check the board out right now. Thanks Jack! Rich

Click on the KidnMe tile at the top and use the contact button to get in touch with Tom. He uses Imperial sockets on metric nuts, the big ones anyway. Tell him Rich from Scooter Doc said hey. Rich
