I ride about 40 miles of my 84 mile commute to work on a four lane highway designated AL 280. There are lights and some crossroads with stop signs. The speed limit is 65 but you will get your arse run over at 65. You better be capable of 75 or don't get on this road. Now extrapolate this to the e-ways around here.....90 is not an unusual speed. So I would not get on 280 with a regular China 150 and I sure as hell would not get on the e-ways with a 150 of any kind. I did ride the Pegasus to work on 280 quite a bit but it would pop 65. I'd get on the e-way with the SYM, I never have, but I'd do it no problem.

The guy has been too busy to get in touch with because he works for the water department. They are all on duty because of the cold temps around here. I'm going to try tomorrow and get more info on the bike.

Thanks Adam, that is the correct manual for the Linhai 250. Let me say this again to everybody, we have many of these manuals, diagrams, and tutorials in the totally underused Library that is just down the main page. I'm not giving you a hard time Adam, this is the way it's been with the Library since we opened 4 years ago.

The big ice storm missed us here in B'Ham and it's 42 right now as I write this. Tonight it's supposed to get down to 25 but tomorrow night it's supposed to be 12! I plan on riding to work tomorrow which really isn't that cold, my record is 17. I'd probably try 12 but I've already had a "discussion" with the wife about riding in those temps. She's probably right, it could be dangerous for an old fart like me. DAMN I hate saying that sh!t! I'm so old I fart dust.

I've never seen the bike but by all descriptions it's pristine. He wants to get rid of it because a friend of ours was killed taking his friend's Harley around the block. T boned by an intoxicated 65 Y/O who had been arrested before. It has a lot of the bike community freaked out around Talladega. It bothers me too but I'm not going to stop riding. I'll see if I can get some pics. Rich

Way too low, what comes to mind is CVT problems. I'd pull the variator and make sure the rollers are OK. Also fuel, is the filter OK?

I gotta guy that wants to sell me a Kawasaki Vulcan 900 year 2009. I'm not sure if it's classic or custom but it's got 3K miles. I don't think he knows squat about the price of bikes and he wants to unload it. What should I offer him. It's never been down and it's been serviced. Rich

16" wheels are a different animal and I'd cautiously do 65 if the bike felt smooth. Pete's Stella is a different animal too, it's an Indian build but more complex than that. I'll let him tell you about that. Jerry has a tremendous body of knowledge behind him as does Pete. I trust their judgement to do the safe thing. I've just had Chinese bikes up to 65 (Bashans, and others) and they got light. I'm just not comfortable with that anymore. My wife's bike is a Puma, which is a Znen. It's pretty tight at 60 and a little above but I just don't think it should be hauling over that. It has 13" wheels. Call me a wuss but I've rode a lot of bikes and most scooters at 60+ get weird. Also, you can dredge a lot of my writing up on this site and it will contradict what I just said. Well oh well, we live and we learn and we change. I'm different now....sue me...I don't want to get hurt and I damn sure don't want my family or any of you getting hurt. You take a cheap 150 over 55 you are on borrowed time, a better bike, you're probably OK if it's stable. I've been on motorcycles and scooters for 50 years, listen to me, don't push the envelope. The theory is that the filaments are oriented in different directions so it's not just about brightness. But I think you should get down in front of your headlights, after a protracted period in total darkness, (so you can see the filaments), and have somebody turn on the lights with the brights on! Maybe you'll have better luck, I tried this but I've had to type bi tooch cinse I treed thiss% Iz itt darc yett?

Correct, but both filaments come on with the passing flasher.

John is a friend of mine but I wouldn't hawk a product of his because of that. However, I bought one of the CDIs that he provided a link to and it made a difference. I'm not a big believer in electricals making a huge difference but there was a significant increase in performance on the bike I installed it on.
I just noticed that's a good price too. That's cheaper than I paid and .....HEY!

Don't trust the Chinese tach if you have one, they are off as much as the speedos. Get a Tiny Tach, they are accurate and indestructible. AND you can swap them from bike to bike.
