LED issue

Ah damn. I did not even think about trying to reverse the wires when I had it apart. That rears worked perfectly so just made the assumption that the wireing should be fine. DOH! Next time I have the front off I will give that a try. Thanks.Must have been the heat and by the time I was puting back together we had been in the garage messing around with lights, Aux plugs and charging issues for about 15 hours by then.
PS.. I do not think your comment sounded at all condesending. Simple things can be over looked way to easy. Thanks Todd

Ok I changed out tail/Brake lights and Turn Signals with SuperBright LEDs. Ok I had one issue when Installed LEDs in the front they did not work in the front they would not flash. The Rears would. NOTHING completely dead in the front. I had to put the stock bulbs back in. Anyone else have an issue with LEDs in the front on a Jonway YY250T? I got mine from here. www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Ftail-brake-turn.htmlI got the 12LED 1157 and 1156 1157 Reds and 1156 Amber this is great on the rear as the new Ambers you can see now in bright Daylight. BA15 Dual & Single Contact LED Automotive Bulbs 15mm Bayonet base bulbs for tail/brake/turn light applications 1157 (BAY15D) - Dual Contact and Dual Intensity 1156 (BA15S) - Single Contact and Single Intensity Select LED color to match vehicle lens color 12VDC operation - Motorcycle Tail/Brake & License Plate Bulb All types available in White Red Amber WLED Miniature Wedge Base bulbs T3-1/4 (#194/168) filament bulbs found in many automobile and water craft applications. Built in current limiting resistor and diode to protect the LED from reversed polarity installation. 12 Volt DC operation. Replaces: 194, 158, 168, 12256, 12961 I got the WLED-5X for the front beside the headlights they work great super bright the cool blue 12 Lumen at 11000K

Ok here is the way to test it and a picture of location for you. You can do a quick test to see if the diode is bad, just unhook it, plug you're volt meter on the battery, start the scooter and then jump across it where you unplugged it. If the voltage comes up to when you rev it a bit to 14+ volts then you know it's bad. Attachments:

Check the wires that go to the coil on the back side. I had mine come loose once did the same thing. Also check that the Kill switch is set to run as the lights will come on but will not start that way either.

WELL after finally getting diff regulator. Same thing Never getting over 13 volt actually would drop below 13 volts at 5000 rpm. Stripped it all the way to the frame went over every connection still All connections good no broken wires. Then I remember on Somebody's thread about cutting out at 45+ that JR had mentioned the Diode. So I am thinking what the heck might as well check it out. So did what JR said about how to check it unhook the diode start scooter 13 volts constant weather at idol or 5000 rpm again actually drops below 13 at 5000 so then I put a jumper across where I took out the Diode and Walla what do you know the voltage JUMPED up to about 14.2 volts. :-) That is all I needed to see. I am now going to go order a dang Diode I think that has been my charging problem all along.
I am sure glad I try and read all the post even if it is not something that is always a problem I am having as it sometimes can lead into the problem you are having. Did that make sense. Not sure it did to me.... LOL
Anyway the strip to the frame was not just to check the wiring I installed the HIDs today and LEDs. Which is going to be a whole other thread when I am done took pictures along the way. And Had a small issue with LED for front turn signals. I will put that in the new thread also.

I have a YY250T I got mine in April Brand New. It has had a couple of miner problems.
If you get it brand new Make sure you do the PDI that is all I can say. When i did my PDI i there was a hose that was pinched off.
My biggest problem is the Crappy service from where I bought my scooter. Stay way clear of EVOSALES.com their service sucks.
Over all I have 1300 miles on sofar and all is well. Doing some upgrades this weekend on mine HID and LEDs. Jonway charging system seems to be a bit weak at least on mine.

First congrats on getting a new scoot. This might actually be a sign on saving you money. After uncrating your new scoot did you do a good PDI? There's a really good PDI right here: SCOOTER DOC OFFICIAL GY6 PDI[/b] I would start by checking your kill switch. Then check all of your wireing to make sure you dont have any loose connections. If you did not do a good PDI I would start by changing all your fluids also before you start it up. You will save yourself tons of future problems. Todd

Thanks Cruiser. I the front signals seem to be fine for visibility. But every time my dad follows me in daylight he has a hard time seeing my signals on the rear. I guess I may just change out the rear witch may keep me from having to change out the Flasher Relay then.
I have HIDs on the way but not sure when they will get here. I will try and document the whole process of the HID install also.
Thanks, Todd

Ok I am looking at ordering LEDs for all the way around on my scooter. I know the Tail/brake are 1157 and the rear turn signal are or will accept an 1141 bulb. But what about these on the front can any one tell me what the socket is on them I have arrows to in the picture?

In Wisconsin All everything under 50cc get registered as Moped over 50cc gets registered at Motorcycle. They have a whole list of regulations on them. One of the biggest money makers is tickets around the College for people riding 2 up on a Moped/scooter.
