cool going to try that, also there is a copper plug over my air/fuel mix screw. I just read somewhere i could drill that out, im cautious about drilling into my carb. Did i read that right? Carbs are cheap enough that you may want to buy one from EBAY or a site on the sponsor list of this site. It's better to try an experiment with an extra part then to have down time with your current set up.

Changing the variator rollers to a heavier weight will increase your top end MPH. It's cheap to do, and an easy install.

Will the 88cc/52mm kit require any case mods, or is it a direct bolt on to the stock cases?
Sounds like a combo i might try out as well.

I have a chance to get a Taizhou Chuanl 50cc scooter for cheap.
Are these the same scooters as the Roketa and Bashans?
Do they have the same motor?
They look slightly different, but i wonder if thats just cosmetic or if it's a completely different engine/carb/frame etc.
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Cruiser,
Once again thank you for being so helpful.
Is there a way to test the auto-enricher? Can i hook it to a battery and check it's movement range or something? I think it was 3 turns out when i removed it to look at it.

I got it started, and was able to keep it running long enough to do minor adjustments on the idle. The cables were stretched a bit.
But upon further inspection the carb diaphragm looks to be very droopy, \____/ shaped like that and not tight at all.
Where can i but a replacement diaphragm at?
Is the auto enricher not working? Do they sell these, or should I try and find a new carb?

I'll try those ideas out tomorrow.
I "think" it's getting fuel, the fuel filter is filled with fuel.
The old spark plug was not getting wet in the cylinder though.
It did sound like there was a small pop from the exhaust. Maybe it just needs to fill the carb with fuel, and prime itself?
Im sure it will be all worth it once it gets running.

Hey guys... So i got my new spark plug cap on today.
I still can't get the scooter started. it has fresh gas, but maybe a 1/4 tank.
I cleaned the carb and jets with guitar wire. All connections are secure.
It has spark but it turns over but just won't start.
Does the tank need to be full? This scooter sat for about 6 months without running.
Will a new plug help?
Are there any tricks to getting it started? Does the carb need to prime, or will starting fluid help get it going?
Any ideas?

Ive come across a vent tube with a filter? that runs from the cylinder head cover back towards the rear wheel, and into a valve, and then across over near the air box. Does anyone know what that is, or where it needs to be hooked up to?

I appreciate the help Cruiser. The more I work on this scoot, the more I lean, and everyone has been super helpful.
I am going to order an Orange CDI, some new roller weights, and a Gates belt. I am probably going to go to a small BBK as well.
Any advice on a decent kit that is complete? I'm looking at the Scrappy Dog kit you posted above.

Cruiser that is exactly what I have except it's red-white-black.
Thank you for the info so far.
I saw yesterday a site that had a link to a scooter microfiche on it...but I can't seem to find it anymore.
Do you know where there is an online microfiche?
