It's been too cold and snowy to ride. I enjoy riding a bicycle in cold weather. I've ridden to and through Forest Park in St. Louis while it's in the 20s. maybe my age is catching up with me but anything under 40 is too cold on a scoot. (Though I'm a kid compared to some of you) One problem with getting a bike in the winter is nor getting as many opportunities to ride it. I'd like to replace the rollers with sliders but I also feel I should give the bike a chance as is. I'm no speed demon and 30 is fine where I ride. However if there is more potential I'd like to tap dat.
I'm torn between leaving well enough alone and my desire to get all up in there and mess around

At one time both my rear turn signals worked. Now only the right one works. The front left turn signal never worked. I see scrappy dog sells the whole unit, do I need to buy the whole megillah or can I replace the lamps? If the latter is the case, is there a tutorial? I can't seem to find one. I have a taotao atm 50 (or sunny type II on scrappy dog)

now its time for a real update. Ive been riding it around the neighborhood. It runs nice, its a little hard to start but I blame that on the cold weather. I had a flat tire today. I knew it was going to happen....I plugged the tire hoping it will hold. I got the wheel off and took it to a scooter shop, 60 bucks and 15 minutes later I had a new tire installed on the wheel. While reinstalling my pipe I had trouble tightening the bolts onto one of the studs. looks like it stripped. dangit. On the upside, I rode it with one bolt supertight and the pipe was secure enough so it wouldn't fall off and I went faster than I ever have so far. 33mph on a gps. I'm 230lbs and I haven't done anything special to the bike so I'm guessing that's pretty decent. so that's where I am now. One stud on the exhaust and going at a good clip (for me anyway) I suppose I need to helocoil that stud hole. or is there another trick that you guys know about?

too bad I didn't get running yesterday when it was 66 degrees instead of 33 degrees. sound wasn't there last time I rode down the alley. Could it be crud loose in the exhaust? This bike is a 2013 but it looks like its been sitting in a yard uncovered since 2003. some observations: its so quiet! I've only rode 2 strokes before and the ones I had were loud good bottom end. I'm not used to taking off from a full stop. That's part of the reason I sold the Puch Maxi I had. Smooth ride! my motorized shook the bolts out. Not to mention I hated the manual clutch.
my buddy had an 86 razz in college I used to ride a little, Mostly for beer runs. This would bring back memories if I had any from college

ran it for the first time. I had the idle too low but I adjusted it and though my speed isnt that good it takes me up a hill at 25mph (Chinometer)so I'm getting somewhere. It ticks a little...or maybe its a knock, I'm not sure..more like a crackle. my old sealed carb had an 81 jet - my new one has a 79 so I swapped jets. Ill look at the plug later and see. Im over the freakin moon
and upside down apparently

Wait....premature. it was the starting fluid.
I admit, the gas is from last spring. Is that a problem? Is the gas bad?

I got the new carb on. Still won't start. I reattached the vacuum petcock and it sounds different - kind of knocky and grindy. No gas in spark hole. Would the next step involve taking the head off? I hope not.

My new carb should be coming today so we'll see if that clears up the not getting fuel issue.
When I do the finger test for compression my finger comes out dry so that's one issue. Timing could be another.
I want to make sure I'm getting fuel first.
BTW- I don't deserve the title "certified clinician" by my name.
"Dumba** who is in over his head" is more accurate
