As that square tab on the flywheel rotates it cuts the field of that magnet inducing ac voltage which triggers the ignition, I have it isolated to nothing but the pickup and the flywheel, and the pickup works, gap is good etc.

Not the flywheel the ignition trigger on the outside of it, one person says it's magnetized, one person says it's not. The pickup will generate voltage anytime there is a piece of metal that interrupts the field of the magnet in the center, I got one of the pickups to generate voltage with the lathe jaws earlier

Ok I used my lathe jaw to serve as a reluctor wheel and the pickup works,it has to be something in the flywheel but what? It's so simple

I'm grounding my meter right to the case by the stator, and measuring straight off the connection isolated to the pickup, it can't get simpler, no voltage off any of my pickup coils

Ok I've tried everything, I'm seriously about to put this thing to the curb. this is the fourth ignition pickup I've tried, no matter what I do I can't get any pickup voltage, i'm talking straight out of the pickup and to case ground right near it, zip, nothing. It's not my meter, I'm using a good fluke and I had no issue measuring pickup voltage before, I even tried another meter, it's a solid ground to the case, every pickup coil measures around 145 ohms installed, there is no damage to the flywheel, the gap to the trigger on the flywheel is fine, the flywheel looks fine, I'm sick of walking and I just can't afford to put anymore money or time in this, this is being measured out of circuit, so it's isolated, so it's not the kill switch or anything like it. this makes no dam sense

nope did some research on how these types of pickups work in theory

Apparently it's not magnetized the sharp edges cut the magnetic field of the permanent magnet in the pickup, inducing a voltage

ok this is bizarre, I can't get an ignition trigger signal, two different pickups, both 145 ohms, verify continuity when installed, gap is correct, when engine is cranked over, I have no voltage, I have tried both AC and DC even though it's pulsing DC, one of these pickups is known to be good, as I ran it before, is the part of the flywheel that triggers the ignition supposed to be magnetized? if it is, there is no magnetism in it, as nothing sticks to it.

did you put all the ground leads back on? is it the same stator wiring?

that's a decently big bike and fast enough to get into serious trouble make sure he takes a safety course

do you mean you take off the cooling shroud and you can see the bottom of the engine? the engines are split horizontally, so we would need to see a picture of where it's leaking

I like the look of the big Rukus plus if you want to go camping in the woods you can drive it right off of the road. It's really an adventure bike wrapped up in a scooter
