it's not a Solana, that's the dealers name, they have several dealerships in FL and possibly other states, they sell a number of scooter brands, Mine is also Branded the same but it's a Yiben, they have a bad habit of not putting the bikes name on, but branding it themselves

just type 157QMJ rocker assembly into your browser you'll get all kinds of results, they are cheap, usually less then ten bucks, that will fix the stripped out rocker threads. just get the screw out, and look for an online manual for your engine and get it back together

yea, I need to get a long full threaded 7/16 bolt first, probably tomorrow, when my new spring gets here, I will take pictures of how it works, there is a video somewhere of one made out of a cut up PVC cap, but I don't trust a piece of weakened cut up PVC to hold spring tension, especially with a new stronger spring

I don't know, that was a cut off piece I had, and i've got a couple of hours in it, I probably wouldn't make anything back, I needed one, so I went ahead and machined one, vs paying for one.

some times it can be more economically feasible to replace the engine than to repair one. everything to fix this engine can be found cheaply on ebay, get the screw out, get a new rocker assembly, replace the cracked intake tube, which would have leaned out the engine. and adjust or replace your carb, also very cheap, these are not rolls royce V12 engines, they are as simple as lawn mowers

well the exciter coil provides ac to the cdi, the stator also provides ac to the regulator rectifier, to be changed to Dc to power the lights, charge the battery etc, is it the exitor coil burning out, or the main winding etc? do you have a short somewhere in the wiring, worn spot in the harness etc, how old is the battery? a battery with a dead cell could be overeating the stator, which will be always be trying to charge it at a heavy current level, the same thing happens with a bad battery in a car and the alternator

could this be the issue with my variator? the small plastic pieces the plate is supposed to slide on, apparently two have vanished. with a load on the sheave, it looks like it would side load those parts metal to metal, and the gear ratio wouldn't change picture didn't load i.imgur.com/5TKno1I.jpg

I have a legitimate Keihin, I just can't find parts, it's only got 700 miles on it, I took off the top cover and it had a hole in the diaphram, probaby from someone running corn gas from before I bought it

pull off the top of your carb, two screws, be careful, because of the spring in there, so it doesn't get lost, I would bet there is a hole in the diaphragm. that diaphragm lifts out the main meeting needle, so with a hole, the meeting needle stays down, ethanol eats the diaphragm from the bottom side

I'm waiting on a carb, with a hole in that diaphram the main meeting needle can't lift out, and you will have almost no power, very common issue
