I've been averaging 78-82 mpg on my 150 Tank for the last 5 years.

Every part I've ordered from Absolutely Scooters to get the motor on my Tank rebuilt has arrived in the absolute minimum amount of time. Their service is 'Absolutely' amazing.

Also check the fuseholder; could be defective.

I chased headlight, battery charging issues for all of 2008 on my 06 Tank. Went through 3 different regulators thinking that was the issue. My problem ended up being a defective fuse. One of the metal ends of the fuse was bad and only made intermittent contact. Replaced the fuse and all electrical problems stopped.

As far as the battery problems get you battery 'tender'. I got mine from 'Wallyworld' for $18 dollars four years ago. Whenever my scooter is parked in my garage I leave the charger plugged in and I'm on the same battery (not counting the battery that came with the scoot and lasted 3 months).

When I removed the airbox on my 2006 Tank and added an MRP air filter I had the same problem. When I mounted the filter I routed it out to the side of the scooter with some curved rubber hose. At high speeds it would sputter because the 'wind' blowing by the filter was actually creating a vaccuum and robbing the carb of air. I remounted the filter directly to the carb and the sputtering stopped. Hope this helps.

Rod was seized to crank. Ordered new rod/crank assembly, next size larger cylinder and piston and just to be on the safe side a new oil pump and gears. The nice thing is that all I have to do is drop the engine and take it to one of the guys I work with. He's always rebuilding motors in his boys' dirtbikes so all it is going to cost me in labor is a 'case'. I could do it but would probably take twice as long and have left over nuts or bolts.

That's what I was thinking. Those 13,000 miles are all 60+ mph. Thinking on going the next size larger on the cylinder and piston. Just printed off the disassembly manual from the 'library' and going to 'wade in' this weekend.

Since I'm going to be rebuilding, thinking of 'beefing' it up a little.

The old green Tank finally died on the way home from work yesterday. Doing about 60mph and it started 'bogging' down. Pulled off the side of the road and shut her down. Rear whell spun freely, oil looked fine but now is locked up tighter than a drum. Had to carry it home in a cager. Will start tearing into it this weekend if I have time. Any quick suggestions? I'm thinking worst case scenario of a seized motor. 13,000 miles and it was running great.

Removed CVT cover. Two year old belt looked great. Fired her up and definitely noticed noise from the clutch. Blew it out the best I could without taking apart and the noise definitely quieted down. At least now I know that I can ride it next week until I get new clutch parts bought and installed.

Hey brother, bring your variator tool over next weekend. You can give me a hand. Maybe we can give that dirty scooter of yours a wash job while we're at it.

Not a big deal for most guys, but I have a torn rotator cuff on my left shoulder from an accident last year and tennis elbow in my right arm, so pain was the word of the day! Fri morning, I couldn't even move the fingers in my right arm it hurt so bad! Fortunately I don't have to type since I have Dragon Naturally speaking on my computer... -Rich I know how you feel; it's h*** getting old when we think we can do work like we used to without pain. If I didn't live in Idaho I could have came and did the electrical work for a bottle of Crown.

It could be a roller; never thought about that. It just doesn't seem to be internal to the engine so I doubt (hope) it's anything major. Just noticed it yesterday so I didn't ride it to work today. I'll start by having my brother listen and see if it sounds like his did before he adjusted the valves.
