Got it ;D . Pretty good pictures of the assy. in Family Go Carts under Transmision Components. Used a pair of pliers to load the spring back to the stopper.. Arrow 150 Manual, Go to page 31. It is part of all maintenance info on a Arrow 150, the kick start assy. is identical to my Phoenix..

Thanks for the reply Rich !!. I 'm sure there is a correct placement or meshing of the two coresponding gears and probably the starter spring would have to be cocked,,enough tension on it between the spindle shaft and stopper plate..I'll keep playing . One thing about these problems,, once you get them figured out,, you don't forget them i.e #^%$*&&(&^%??"> !! Harv..

Steve,, sorry I'm late on answering, was out of town.. Yes, the oem variator on our scoots are larger than most that are available. The original rollers were appox. 12 gram. I swapped 11,12, and 14 gram sliders, and mixed the 12 and 14 for a 13 gram combo. I marked the pulley to see wich was the best results on take off power and top end. I settled on the 12 grams. 11 gram worked pretty good but rpm was a bit higher. I weigh 180 and don't carry much in the box. Hope this helps.. OOP's They are 18x14 sliders..

Finally making some headway now that I've had some time to play with the scoot.. . I have the oil leak at the split half area almost non existent. I used Doc's sugestion of heat , laquer thinner, wipe off. Did it five times then used a putty knife and forced red rtv along the leak area and then some. Works good, hope it stays that way. I put in a 38 pilot jet (was 32), raised the needle two clicks, put in a 115 main, played with 11,12,14, gram sliders. 11's wouldn't run the belt up far enough on the pulley. Right now I have the combo of 12's and 14's giving me 13 grams and it runs GREAT !!----But----My tach shows 6500 rpm at 40 mph ??. Sounds high,, Eh What ??. Didn't want to check it at 55-60 cause I only have 386 mi on it. This is a 16" 150cc scoot. Let me know what you think on the rpms.. Thank you Amigo's !!

I want to add that Mike at Buggy Parts NW has been a great help on this..Buy from Mike !!! I've decided to use the OEM variator, I polished it up nicely and will try a combo of 11,12,13 gram sliders. Play a bit more with the carb..This is a good forum ;D

I was in the process of replacing my OEM variator with a Dr. Pulley and put sliders in place of the rollers. Well, working back and forth with Mike at Buggy Parts NW after I'd received the Dr. Pulley there was a problem. This scoot is a 150cc, MC-ZS-18, 16" wheels, Znen Phoenix from Sunny Sports. After measuring and comparing, it seems the OEM variator is for a 250 cc . 17mm shaft, 21 teeth, ramp plate hole 17mm, variator OD is 123mm, etc, etc. Phooey !! I'm interested to know if any other Phoenix owners have run into this surprise ..

Thanks Rich !!, I'll do that. One outfit suggested I buy another carborator from them,, I'm sure. This isn't that big of deal,, I figured maybe there was a standard starting point. Too many make of carbs I suppose and some difference between them. I'll just add or remove the washers and see what happens. Very time consuming tho.. This is an extra carb I have for back up..

I'm at a loss as to how many washers to put on this needle. I know the good needles have grooves for the clip so you have an idea of the distance you have set. Is there a mm distance or ? to compare this to the groove - clip type needle ?. Also the part that locks down the needle inside the diaphram assy. just clicks into place after groove line up. A feeble click at that. Poor lock down compared to a set screw.. Thanks !!

So Bashan,, do you still have the 115 main jet in there ?. Were you satisfied with the 115 after you removed the airbox and put on the Uni ? I still have the 125 in mine. (removed airbox and put on a Uni)Seems to use a lot of gas although the spark plug is more white than brown.. Boy, you have really done the number on that scoot !!! Should run like a striped ape.. Harv.

It looks like mine is the engine on the right. I find that the Long case CVT cover is 19" long and the Short case cover is 17" long. Probably not all because of the Chinese variations . I bought a Long case chrome cover last month from Partsfor scooters.com (not parts4scooters). None of the bolt holes matched (I should have looked at their diagram better.). So I sent it back and paid a 20% restock fee. Yes, I've checked all the vendors and then some for the right configuration. Scooterparts, chrome scooter parts, parts for scooters, e bay. They all have the same cvt cover and all marked 4 stroke. They would fit the engine in the center of the picture. This is all nit picky I know. I thought my scoot would look pretty snazzy with more chrome.. Chromeparts for scooters don't have a search feature that I could see. You have to e mail or join their site.. Thanks a lot and like I said,, this is a Great Forum !!!!

Thank you for the replies.. It looks like there should be a noticable measurement difference to identify them.

Do all scoots with 16" wheels have the long case ? I have a Znen 150T-18, 16" wheels and it has the short case. I wasn't aware of it untill I ordered a spiffy chrome CVT cover - Long case. Too long and more bolt holes than the short case.. Also, does anyone know where I can get a chrome CVT cover for the short case ? Thanks...
