I definately remember that time, JR. I was driving 110 miles a day round trip to my full time job and was on the road on weekends persuing my Pro Handling Career at Southern dog shows I was using a new 72 Chevi pick up, 6 cyl., with a box cover on the bed that was a walk in. Had the rear view window out and a connector to the rear. Plus I was pulling a 17' travel trailer. Gas prices tripled over night. I had a second 20 gallon tank installed with a switch over control so that I could head out with an extra 20 gallons if I could not find a station open to refill the main tank. Never had much trouble finding gas but it was good to have a back up. Those were the 'good old days!!!!'

I keep 15 gallons in my garage, treated with stabil and always have a gallon in the top trunk of which ever scoot I am riding. I fill up at home before riding and avoid service stations with the scoot. I realize that not every one can do this as they ride more than I do. I work from home and my riding is either to the PO for shipping small packages or to WallowWorld to pick up meds or groceries if needed or pleasure rides such as I have planned for this weekend. EM did a kind deed.

Us Southerners did have a brief respite for a couple of weeks but March is back to its old tricks. Temps in the 40's and 50's , high winds, and rain--lots of rain. In my area we are expecting 2-3" possible today. Better weather for boating than it is for riding. Mac, sorry you are having all the probs with the new scoot. Fuel prices went up 20 cents last week, now seeing some hi test at $4.00. Can find it cheaper but not by much.

Alley, that situation that you describe did exist, sadly, at that time. The Gov. was trying to cut costs then but this was a a poorly thought out effort. It is no longer being practiced. You did exactly the right thing in exploring your options and choosing the one that would best serve you. You earned it and deserved it. We owe you and all the others who served a great debt of gratitude and thanks. Ride on, brothers and sisters.

And a fitting greeting it is!!!! And it would be even more fitting if they were met with such a greeting, conducted peacefully, at every service of their family owned " church".

MB, I dont think that you overstepped the line at all. If you want to see how far we in this country have strayed from the founders intents and advice, go to www.freedom press.com and check out their Founders Daily Quotes. These men pretty well had it nailed down. However then was then and now is now.

Fuel prices here, rounded off, varied from $3.60, $3.80, $4.00, the three grades. to $3.46, $3.66, $3.86. These weree at the name brand stations. Indie stations were running about ten cents less. Should be more by weeks end. Glad I have the scooters!!

In general I would agree with you. I am not ashamed of my faith not should any man be. That said, extremism in any faith, political movement, or government is wrong. I have close friends of all beliefs and we respect each others right to freedom of beliefs. If one choses to not believe at all that is his right. However, those who preach hatred in the name of religion are dangerous and misguided. In the case that you mention I believe that the Supreme Court was in error in its judgement. What human has the right to preach hatred in the name of God? Only those who are sick would protest at funerals for our fallen soldiers and only those who presume to tell us who God hates would be so blind. Now, back to scooter stuff!!!!

Absolutely beautiful country. The whaleshark, as I recall, is harmless, sort of a baleen eater like some whales, right? Great shot of him!! Looks like you have a very active club. What makes of scoots are you riding?

I will stick with what I have, two TGB deliveries, one a 50cc the other a 150 ccc. Mine have 39 gallon boxes simular to these Chinese knock offs. I really like mine for PO runs and light groc. shopping. The one illustated appears to be an even bigger box. One thing I will warn you about and that is the boxes this size do make the scoots top heavy. Balance is a bit tricky especially in curves. This design is best used for city deliveries of Pizza and simular chores.

Alley, you send that snow on eastward not south!!!! We have had our allotment for the year.We cant afford to drive to FL to get away from cold weather.

Temp here today is 46 with a 15-20 mph wind blowing. It aint warm!!! Last week was 60-70 and riding was indeed good. Rain tomorrow and Sunday. However the Bradford Pears are in full bloom and the Jonquils, my favorite flower, are blossoming. That is a sure sign that Spring is just around the corner.

Free? That is a good deal. In GA you have to pay for it, I think.

The IRS has long needed an overhaul. I feel that the Fair Tax concept would be the easiest and fairewst wayt to handle taxation. And dont forget that in addition to the federal tax, we pay state and local sales tax, in many cases state income taxes.,federal and state taxes on fuel, federal luxury taxes and on and on!!!
