EXACTLY! With all of this increased buzz about veterans in Washington these days, I hope some of them actually mean it and work hard to finally show some honor to those whom have shown it for us! Thank you! Your welcome! It is very nice in this day and age that folks are actually thinking about us Vets and thanking us for our service. Not only on Veterans day, but all year long. I have folks in the shop all the time and when they see my Vet stickers, POW flag ect., they asked if I served and then Thank me. It does give one a warm feeling. As many older Vets, (like myself) know, this was not always true. During Vietnam and afterwards most did not use words of praise when talking to or about Veterans. When returning from overseas, we were spat on and called names like baby killers and worse. Back then, there were no Parades for returning Vets or folks lining up at the Airport to welcome us home. Now it is common place and that my friends means more to a Vet that any of you will ever know. So I say, Thank You! for thinking about us and taking the time to show us you do care!!!!!! Try a 13/16 standard socket. If my old memory serves me right LOL.
Also when you check the mounts make sure the rubber is good.

WRONG! No I did not. It's as it was when I bought it. Ive ridden it for a year and just started having problems with the chain coming off. Well if that is the case then ICE BEAR AND JIM OWE YOU A NEW TRIKE PERIOD. Because that is a BASTTARDIZED piece of crap you got there and that is NOT A TRIKE MOTOR that is a TWO WHEEL REAR DRUM BRAKE MOTOR PERIOD. I mean even the DRIVE SHAFT is at an ANGLE going into a TWO WHEEL SWING ARM that was added to support the motor on that end. And because of the angle the SPROCKET is also at an angle and if it also wobbles on the shaft then you have more problems. Alleyoop Well this statement was truly uncalled for!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now lets discuss this. 1. Alley your trike has reverse and was the last model 150cc that did have. As you well know, they had issues with folks not adjusting it correctly causing issues inside the casing. So they took it out in late 2009 and redesigned it with a forward only. Also the rear diff has been changed since then. 2. I sent both of these discussions to Ice Bear this morning and talked with them just a bit ago. They have one sitting in the warehouse and they looked at it to see if there was something missing. The one on the floor is just like this one. No clip, bushing or extra hardware. www.icebearatv.com/product/ptz150-8-k?main_product=457 this link shows the parts. They are going to take one out of the crate and see if there is something missing but doubtful. The folks in Ca believe it is meant to be a floating adapter. I was also told that the motors are different, something about the casing depth. 3. IB will be getting back to me with more info on what they find when they get one out of the crate. 4. Bill, check you motor mounts and make sure they are sound and also check the bearing in the brace.

WOW is all I can say, all of this over valve setting techniques.
So here is my two and 1/2 cents worth.
I work on these machines almost every day of the week, scooters in the summer and ATVs in the winter. Been doing it here for over 22 years, been a mechanic for over 45 years. If you have a mechanical cam system, at some point you have to adjust the valves. Every owners manual or shop manual I have ever seen requires a valve adjustment check as routine maintenance, I don't care what material the engine is made of, metal parts wear over time and use. Of course, just like every thing else, mileage between adjustment varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
After a lot of trial and error, I constantly use .004 inch on all 150s and 50s and recommend the clearances be checked during PDI ( I have seen brand new motors with almost zero clearance and as wide as .012 inch) , then again at about 400 miles, then very 800 to 1000. Every machine I sell off the lot is checked and then a freebee at 400 miles, some are still right on and others are off.
Take my information for what it is worth to you

In June I built a 139QMB motor using Scrappy Dog"s 44mm stroker crank and their 52mm bore kit and big valve head. I used one extra cylinder base gasket. I did not have any clearance issues at all.

I still have my business paypal account but haven't used it in years. I had some issues with them years ago and refuse to use them. Where I do agree that paypal does protect the consumer, they go overboard. In their eyes, the seller is always wrong, no matter what the issue is. All the customer has to do is complain and then "bang" the money is reversed. There is no investigation.

I looked at the site, they say no motorcycle license required, hmmm wonder where they got that info, it is a 150 not a 50.
I always love their FREE box, all that stuff is free from the distributor anyways, like to know where they get their value numbers from?

I received this in an email from Ice Bear,
Dear customer,
We have noticed some knockoff Maddog's in the market and wanted to make sure you are aware of a few things.
Can the "pretenders" that are providing these knockoff Maddog's say the following:
-Countless hours into the Strength & Structure of the frames? NO -Cleaner & Stronger welds throughout the entire bike? NO -4 stage painting process eliminating overruns & all other flows? NO
Now think about this:
Is paying a little less money worth the risks of selling an inferior product? NO
MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE THE ORIGINAL ICEBEAR MADDOG!!!
Loveymae Kimura Ice Bear ATV / Pacific Rim Int'l West Inc.
You be the Judge!

In 2012 Ice Bear changed the way the rear deck mounts to the trike. They added a cross bar and spacers in the rubber grommets for the screws. They also added air holes. This eliminated the cracking

I don't believe in mechanic in a can, but I will tell you I firmly believe in Seafoam, have been using it since 1992 and the stuff works great. I have written and responded to many post over the years about seafoam. Great stuff, esp as a preventive maintenance to keep your small jets clean.
