Actually I didn't jump the scooter battery. I removed the scoot battery and the car battery, then connected the car battery directly to the leads of the scoot; and before anyone makes the suggestion, the battery wasn't connected "backwards".

That's about the only advantage to living in Indiana! No inspection to deal with.

Perhaps you are expecting too much from a motorscooter, and would be better served with the purchase of a motorcycle.

While I was combining 2 50cc scooters to make one good one: The battery that I had was an old one and it would only come up to 11.6 volts when charging. The scooter wouldn't start. The engine would turn over but just wouldn't start. I took the battery out of my wifes car and hooked it to the battery leads on the scooter. Oh yes, it started! Ran for like 3 or 4 minutes and then just died. I was told that I more than likely fried the CDI box. So back to a dealer that's close. Got a new CDI and bought a battery. installed the cdi and followed the instructions on the battery precisely. Once up to a full charge; vroom! Started right up and has been running sweetly since.
MORAL: Never use a car battery to start your scooter. It does get expensive.

I think it would depend upon the local police and their attitude towards scooter operators more than whether the light is legal or not. As long as you don't ride at night with the "winking" light, you should be fine.

I know this is an old post, but it appears to me that all three riders made the same mistake. Keep your da@#ed feet off the road! If these guys had kept their feet on the boards/pegs there more than likely would not have been an accident! Then reduce speed prior to a sharp curve!

Just curious? How's that radio holding up, with all the heat that's generated under the seat?

Good afternoon everyone! I've been surfing the web, looking for athe best price on this windshield. What I've come up with is Powersport superstore.com seems to have the best price on this item. I think it was this forum that had someone who bought one from this company and the after-purchase advise and support wasn't there. Does anyone have any better price? Thanks in advance for your input. Couldn't get anything posted on scootdawg. Think this is going to be my "go to forum" from now on. Oh, ya, BTW it's going on a 2008 Zhenjiang Summit Hauw, model HY150T-5, 150cc. My top speed has been around 60 to 62mph but I normally run at 55mph. Wife has clocked me at that speed and the auto shows 54mph, so my chinometer is very close.

I just read an old post on variators that included a spot of info on the "dynaglass beads" for tire balancing and was wondering how much of a problem one would have getting the beads in with the 90 degree valve stems. My scoot is a "new" (untitled) 2008 zhejiang summit huaw, model HY150T-5 with 13" tires. Has anyone used these beads and put them through a 90 degree valve sterm?

Yup, I went down in about 1983 on my 750 yamaha triple. Slid out from under me on a turn that was covered with mud from the 4-wheelers running up and down the levee between Dallas and Irving Tx. Hit so hard that it left an impression of the zippo lighter in my rt front pocket on my leg that lasted over a year! Jeans, boots and a denim jacket saved me from a tremendous amount of road rash. I never wear shorts or sandals when I ride. It's just not safe.

Hey everyone! I'm riding a 150cc chinese scoot. She'll run a little over 60, according to the chinometer, which wife says is within 1 or 2 mph of my 95 towncar. I really would like to find a windshield that would fit this thing. need one that would mount under the mirror stems. I've located a few, but would like to get opinions on anyone elses experience with putting an aftermarket W/S on their own scoot.

Or you could just wear long pants. (i.e. jeans) This method is much more safe, especially if you ever have the misfortune of having the scoot go down.

Bought my 150cc from AMXMOTORSPORTS, located in the south end of Winchester, Indiana. Have had some problems with the scoot, but the dealer is extremely customer oriented and bends over backward to please! For instance, I had the exhaust drop away from the head and called them, being concerned about driving it the 41 miles to their shop. The shop foreman told me that it would be ok to drive it down. About 16 miles out of my home town, the bike lost all power and just stopped. Took out my cell and called them. They sent a guy after me and my scoot and were even more than willing to transport me back home. Then a few days later The rockers were clattering so loud you couldn't/t even hear the exhaust! They met me with a pick-up at the place where I'd broken down, at 9:30 am. Loaded the scoot and transported it back to the dealership. All this at no charge!!! These guys are absolutely the best mc/scooter dealership I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with.
