I experienced the same thing with mine when it was brand new (12 miles). My remedy was an electronic fuel pump, new lines and a custom fuel filter. After that she has run very well. I believe I initially had a small crack in one of the original equipment fuel lines. Been a ball every since.

Ditto...but i wasn't asking for one so that might be why i didn't get one. Took the Honda 900 out and it appears i maybe replacing the clutch. Felt like it was slipping in mid range when I got on it so i guess i'll do some preventive maintenance while it's wet and cold here.

Just a little bit of eggnog...a lot more of the mix went in it though. Great Christmas for us. Rainy and cold today. New it was coming.

Well fella's I've had my riding lawn mower battery with about 100 more cranking amps in my Magnum now for about a week. It fires right up regardless of the outside air temp. So now I am definitely going to fabricate a battery box that will accomodate a bigger battery. On a second note MIKE I took the Honda 900 out yesterday and man this thing is running great after the rebuild. Probably only have about a week or so before it gets too cold to do so again. Hope everyone has a great Christmas. vr, Lee

Sounds good Mike. Give me a call and I'll pick you up in the new "TOY". Florida guys...geesh what a bunch! Seems like all the Northeners went to florida and all the California dudes came to Arkansas. How I got here I'll never know.

John: Yep that's my thought exactly. I'm busy right now though doing a cold weather snow dance for Florida so that Mike can actually understand the plight of the rest of us. However all in all I'm still warmer than Alleyoop so ain't all bad. Hey Al maybe you can get a washing machine box and put two holds in so you can see and then you'll be enclosed in that cold weather. I was going to put a bathroom heater on mine but I only have a 100 foot extension cord and that won't get me to the store. vr, Lee

Alley: I changed the fuel to be a little richer. Still had to charge the battery prior to it starting. I even tried it after 2 pumps on the throttle. Voltage on the battery is good (cold cranking amps are pretty poor though). I believe I'm going to cut the bottom out where the battery sits and make an aluminum holder that is wider and deeper so I can put a little bigger battery with more cranking amps. On a second note this is the original battery from the factory.

GER: I say forget the scooter and hook up a sled to the 2 "HORSE" you have...probably faster anyway. ALLEY: If I put a charger on the battery (or leave battery tender on it) she will fire right up, but if I don't it will crank and crank when it's cold.. I think I'm going to design new battery box that will accomodate a larger battery with more amps.

Wow Steve...you are going to get good and bad both ways. I have a 300 IceBear Magnum and I love it. Initially it was painful but after about 30 days of fine tuning I have had no problems at all with it. I only drive it in good weather (too old for crappy weather driving). I only have a little over 1100 miles on it but it's been great. I do a lot of short mileage stuff 5 to 10 miles. It's never left me stranded but I check everything on it all the time. Bolts and screws have a tendency to loosen by themselves, but if you locktite them after you find them over time you will no longer have a problem. They are very finicky when it comes to air fuel ratio being just right and idle being just right. Valve adjustment is a must. When they are off you'll know it...because it probably won't crank. For around town driving you just can't beat it. For the interstate I have my Honda CB 900. As far as the scoots you're going to hear hate it/love it. Bottomline if you can do minor maintenance yourself they are worth it. If you can't then I would not recommend getting one. Hope I've helped. vr,

Hey fella's I just wanted to share with you an upgrade I did on the Magnum when I first got it. I went to O'reilly's and purchased an electric fuel pump (small one made for 4 cylinder cars). I wasn't happy with the factory vac pump. I was warned not to but did so anyway. It was one of the best upgrades I did. I have consistent fuel flow across the rpm spectrum. With an adjustable fuel regulator (0-5psi) I also use it as a theft deterrent. (turn it to zero and there is no fuel flow to the carb). In addition I replaced all the fuel lines from the tank to the carb and put a fuel filter lower down on the body for easy access and replacement. The amperage required to run this little unit is minimal and in over a year of running this system I have never experienced a problem of any kind. An added bonus is that for long term storage I can easily empty the fuel tank by disconnecting a carb hose and draining the tank with the pump on.

Hey Mike: I have noticed it as well. Below about 45 degrees the Magnum just doesn't want to start. FULL BATTERY CHARGE is required. All summer long one touch on the starter and she cranks right up but 2 winters now the same problem when it turns cold. I ended up putting a bathroom heater next to it and do a pre-warm up before I crank it. That works fine but I would be afraid to drive it somewhere and leave it sit for too long for fear I couldn't get it restarted in the cold weather. I'm considering a block heater option but haven't done so because I'm not entirely sure temp is the culprit.

Alleyoop there is also a 215-50/12 but I can't remember who makes them. I was looking at them before Mike and I got the 255s.

Alleyoop: I'm not sure we would gain much on the 300 with a new air filter. The one on it is pretty non restrictive as it is. vr, Lee
