Is that what you told the guys in white that came later? If I were a betting man.....I'd bet you'll be trying it soon (probably after making sure no one is around watching you)......and you will say the same thing I did, or something close to it.

Ya know, you are not the only one who gets into these kind of predicaments.....a lot of us get very quickly attached to things we purchase. That is just how I ended up with 2 bikes that are the same model and color.....bought the 2nd one just for the cast wheels, to replace the flaking chrome, spoke wheels on my first one. Then.....when I got it home, and saw what nice shape the whole bike was in....I could not bring myself to swap wheels and re-sell it. Have since found another set of the same wheels for bike #1......I've become attached to both bikes, and wouldn't think of selling either.
Only problem now is room....with the scoot, 2 cruisers, and the recently purchased sidecar rig.......available floor space in the shop, is getting hard to come by

Happy anniversary and congrats. They do have a way of growing on you. Took mine out for a thirty mile ride today......first time on it in 13 days, and boy did it feel good. Now that my flu bug is waning, and forecast is good for next 6 days, my plan is to ride it a little each day that the weather permits.
I should add that I bought my first motorized two wheeler 50 years ago....November 1965....and I'm still nutz about 'em'.

Not much to say yet cy......have only put 420 km (261 miles) on it, loafing along at 35 - 40 mph, on the county roads in my area. Just about the same way I ride the scoot. The Urals are rather crudely built, and take longer to break in than most modern machines, come with much shorter maintenance intervals, and are just plain quirky. Definitely not an interstate cruiser. Some, if not most, would be put off by these things.....and then there are those that don't mind a bit, and actually enjoy how basic and clunky they are.
I am in the process of up jetting from the 125 mains, that came stock. Probably something to do with EPA or the like, but engine was starving for fuel over half throttle. Got three sets of jets, 132.5, 135, 137.5, and a K&N filter, plus 5 or 6 days of warm weather in the forecast. It's not so much the lack of power that is bothersome with an engine this new, as it does seem to run a bit better each time I take it out..... but rather the bright blue color that the headers have taken on. I'll get it tweaked, and add a few km to the clock this coming week.
Oh, I do enjoy this thing, it's not fast, it's not smooth, it's definitely not a BMW, a Honda, or a Yamaha......it's Russian... different... kind of attractive, and just a lot of fun.

Ordered one of these yesterday. It looks just like the one I put on the scoot back in 2012, (that one still works fine)..... but unlike the older models, they now come with a replaceable battery. For $ 8.83 delivered, including the battery, I had to have it.

You have the tach set to the wrong mode. It is most likely turning twice that....or 7600....and..... I'll bet it is reading between 750 and 1000 rpm's when idling.

Go to the retailer trashtruck suggested, and look around. For $12.50 you can get this I use this in my scoot.....also in my other bikes......and with one BMW valve cover, costing more than my entire scooter drivetrain, you can imagine what their engines are worth. Delvac is an outstanding engine oil.

rosiemoto......I don't know where you call home, but if you go to this link, and click your state, maybe you'll find other places to get non ethanol in your area. If your scoot runs better on it, I wouldn't question why.....just use it. Non ethanol is the only thing that I will put in any of my bikes. I don't care that it costs $.70 more a gallon, nor do I mind riding the 13 miles each way, to the closest vender, to get it. I have learned the hard way, that ethanol and small carburetor engines, don't get along. It has been more than three and a half years since I installed a K&N filter, and rejetted the carb, on my scoot. I have not touched the carb since.....no cleanings, no adjustments, no problems. I attribute this to using non ethanol, plus I add .4 of an ounce of Marvel Mystery Oil to each gallon. So visit the above link, I'll bet there is more than one place selling it near you.

Yes dennis, you got it right, it will be a country road, take your time and enjoy the ride, machine. If I feel need to to go fast, I have to other, more capable bikes...(see my signature) Think you may be off a little bit about the comparison of a 150cc scoot and the Ural. My 150 scooter has 8 HP, and a maximum gross weight of 539 lbs. The Ural is 40 HP, and a maximum gross weight of 1325 lbs. So the Ural, fully loaded is 2.46 times heavier than a fully loaded 150 cc scoter, but has 5 times the horse power. Appreciate your concern with my safety, think I'll do fine without formal instruction, mostly due to my age, but also driving style, driving record, and experience, in all types of vehicles, from 200 lbs, to 108,000 lbs. I realize that different types of vehicles, handle differently, so they can't be operated in the same manner. Oh, if I really feel the need for speed.....I have this in the garage too

Golly billtrek, don't they sell snowmobiles where you are. I haven't gone out to, "play in the snow" in probably 54 years. I believe those days are over for me.....it has to be at least 48*, and rising, before I'll even start one of the bikes. That is why the 2 wheel drive model was not a necessity to me. Should I decide to go off roading (which I won't), I do have a Yamaha Big Bear ATV. As I stated before, I've been wanting a sidecar just so I won't have to quit riding in another decade. The nearly 600 pound BMW's, with the wife as a passenger, are not a problem now.....but I'm close to my 68th birthday.......and realize that by 78, or 80, I won't have the strength, or balance that I have today. Planning ahead....trying to get my ducks in a row. So my Ural will be a dog taxi, and a summer evening, ice cream cone fetcher. That's the plan anyway. Lulu is going to love it.

Yes, they were a lot less expensive back in the 90's. They have made a bunch of improvements since then......but the price for a new one today is anywhere from $12,999 to over $18,000. Out of my league, for a bike.
But when I found this, with 24 miles (40km), on it, for a little over 6K, I jumped on it.
Check out Ural of New England. Most of their new inventory is listed as having 36km on the odometer.

crwford......I've smoked all of my life, used to do my share of drinking, but quit that more than a decade ago.....gambling is one vice I never have been involved with. The great state of NY, gets enough of my money by tacking 8% onto every purchase I make, except for the food I buy at the grocery store. Actually they only get 4%, and the county takes the other 4. Nope....no lottery tickets for me. Besides, at neary 68, I wouldn't have enough time to spend a couple of million, should I happen to win. Real close cyborg, I was considering Putin......but decided to go with "Boris", as in Rocky and Bullwinkle's arch enemy, Boris Badenov, remember him? If you do, you're giving away your age. Or if you weren't a fan of the cartoon, maybe this will jog your memory. Hey....it looks like that crazy Russian is going to blow up my scoot.

cyborg.....somehow I knew exactly what you were going to shout at me.. guess you are right. I"m a lucky bastard......and also a happy sob.
This model is not quite the same as the one you mentioned. Mine is one wheel drive, not two, has telescoping forks, instead of the leading link front end, and has too nice a paint job to use for off roading. It was the luxury model of 2004 thru 2006 or 7. Lots of chrome, including wheels, shocks, side covers, headlight housing, trunk straps, and so on, a bigger, more comfortable seat in hack, along with upholstered sidecar interior, two-tone paint etc, etc. Built for comfort. Very few were imported into North America. Heck, the factory only produces a little over a thousand total units, a year.....80% of those are of the two wheel drive variety......We import about 50% of all Urals produced.
In 2006 this bike's MSRP was $9600, plus destination and set up charges.....so , buying it for less than a Vespa 300's sticker, was a good deal in my book.
I've been hunting around for production numbers by model....no luck with finding any data yet, but the Troyka's are a pretty rare model. Doubt if I'll ever see another one like mine in these parts.

Well, there is room for three, but with that much weight, plus the extra wind drag of the sidecar, performance would be on par with that of my scoot.
My original plan was to mount a hack on one of my cruiser's, so when old age finally took over, I wouldn't have to give up riding. Looking into what it would take to do this was a wake up. The sub frame alone, for my model bike is nearly $1000.00. By the time you get a decent car, and have it painted to match the bike, plus the hassle of connecting it, and all of the other necessary stuff (brake lines, wiring, etc), thought I might be better off just buying a complete, used rig instead. So that is what I did. Some info on this unit follows.
Year: 2006....Make: Ural....Model: Troyka....Engine: 750cc....Fuel delivery sys: (2) 32mm Keihin CVK carbs....Brakes: Front,Brembo Disc, Rear and sidecar, mechanically operated drum. Best of all.....this is a new bike...40 km on the odometer, that's 24 miles in English. It had been stored since new, never registered. I paid less than 1/2 the price, of the least expensive 2015 Model. So, for what I would have spent to add a hack to one of the Beemers, I got a 750cc motorcycle, with the sidecar.....and with only 24 miles on it. How sweet it is.....
