Look closely at the photo. There is a spark plug wedged between the flywheel and engine case. The owner tried to chang plugs and dropped it in there and just left it. The motor turns over fine now.

Customer brought in a scooter because it wouldn't start. I checked it out and couldn't get it to turn over even with the kick starter. I called and tolled him that it was going to be an expensive fix because the engine was locked up. He decided to go ahead and have me fix it. So today I start pulling the shroud off and this is what I found. Attachments:

I use a 1/2 inch impact and do it by myself. Heat can help!

Really not that hard to change. We will all walk you through it. Would rather help you then have you suffer a crash due to a blowout. JR had some good recommendations for for replacement tires.

I learned from my uncle Lealand, the smartest and best machinist I have even known, its not the tools you have its bow you use them. It takes allot more time but you can do some amazing things with minimal tolls and a LOT of set up time.

In my opinion I would replace the tire. Motorcycle superstore sells them for less then $30.00. When they get worn down they seam to have blow outs easier. That's no fun at speed!

Sorry no new pictures yet. I figured out after trying to get some decent picks that I need to get the wiring done organized first. Its hard to get a good photo with multicolored spaghetti all over the place.
I really don't have any real fancy tools. I have a Forney arc welder from the early 60's, a Craftsman drill press, a 20 year old 4" grinder, an air powered cut off tool, and the normal shop tools.

My brother overhauled an old Honda in his dorm room at ASU. Man it was tight in there!

Today I got the cooling system done and started on the electrical. I soon figured out that the 250 uses a DC CDI. I went through all my extra parts an no luck so I had to order one. Bummer, I hoped to have it running tonight. As I was working on the cooling system I discovered the little hose coming off the thermostat housing. I'm not sure if it is for the carb and is no longer used or if its a bypass. I decided it use it as a bypass regardless. This is the part I made to hook it to. I will post pictures of the complete cooling system tomorrow. Attachments:

Ok, will keep it going.
Thank you everyone for the encouragement.
Big thanks to Dave at Absolutely Scooters! He found a swingarm for me. Even though I made one I still want the factory part for future use. He is also sending an spedo with a temp gauge.

There hadn't bean any response for the last 3 pages so I was beginning to think it was more for my own ego then for the enlightenment of others.

Anybody care about this thread? Maybe it should be in the custom section. Mods feel fee to move.
If nobody cares I will deeleate the thread and move on. I realize that this is not a project to many people would take on. Its much easier and maybe more cost effective to sell the 150 and buy a 250.
