lookin good.....a couple of weeks ago I had to hunker down below the tiny screen that comes stock on the bike. I was leaving the local fair and didn't realize the temp was going to drop down to the low 50's. It was a cold ride home but not as bad when hiding behind the screen lol.

Hey new2scootn, Thank you. Suzuki's 0% interest for 5 years promo was too good to pass up. I am going to try to sell the trike. I am going to pull the thermostat and see if it is opening up or not. But i need to diagnose the overheating issue before I sell her. I'm throwing in a free cover, and a sound system. I have a radio velcro'd to the side of the scoot and 2 speakers in the back trunk and one speaker on the left side of my console.

Took a 90 mile ride on the trike the other day. Very nice and smooth ride. All went well....until the next day. I found a puddle underneath the trike. There is water leaking from the point where the "joint" pipe from the water pump attaches to the bottom of the engine. I have plenty of coolant in the reservoir. The engine now overheats. I either have a bad water pump or a thermostat issue. I give up. The trike only has 3,920 miles on it. There is issue after issue. On a lighter note.
I just purchased a 2012 Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive Model earlier today. Good ridden Sunny, hello Suzuki.
Sunny couldnt even help me with my water pump issue. They need pictures or a part number that I, MYSELF, need to find.

Hate to hear that daddue. I've had the run around with the whole cast of characters over at sunny /scooterdepot too. My dealer will not get parts for me so I go directly through sunny. The only time they act interested in helping is when you are BUYING parts. Hopefully you will get the correct bushings soon. I have not checked my engine support yet. I've been dealing with tire issues and my starters clutch. I should be back in the saddle again this weekend.

well the size 135/70-13 will NOT work. The tire will not fit because of the placement of the engine. I'm just going to purchase a good brand named tire 130/60-13 like michelin or bridgestone tires. I might look around and compare sizes of possibly a new wheel size. The latest tire that wore out of round was a Shinko tire. I'm not sure if the quality of the tires is what is causing them to wear out of round or what.

That new model looks easier to manage.
I'm replacing my rear tire with a small car tire tomorrow. Smallest size I could find was 135/70-13. I'm hoping the height won't be an issue. That new tire I got just 2500 miles ago is already wearing like it's out of round. I'm not going to replace tires every couple thousand miles. Thats the reason Im gonna try a car tire. Hopefully it will work and I can get at least 12,000 miles or more from the car tire.

Just saw the PM new2scootn. The trike is running good. I just lose oil when the engine is running though. Just got a new gasket delivered on Friday. I havent been riding as much because of the oil leak. I wish these trikes had more speed to them. If there was more speed they would be absolutely perfect. I would venture out of town with the real bikes if it could do a cruising speed of at least 65 and max speed of 85.

Sunny did send the starter clutch under warrenty. And they were not slow about it at all. I was very very impressed. The mechanic said he replaced a seal but he thinks the gasket (im assuming the one that goes on the right side of the motor) is leaking. Its not leaking too bad but it is still leaking and it wasnt before the tear down. I noticed a air line off when I took off the starter, before taking the trike to the shop. I reattached the air line properly. The trike runs smoother and better now. The motor even sounds quieter. I may even get more speed out of her. Havent had a chance to take her for a long ride yet.

Update: Got a new starter clutch from Sunny. Sunny said they would get a new starter clutch in the mail on December 21st. I received it the 26th! I was very impressed with the speedy delivery, especially since it was around Christmas. I took the trike to a mechanic shop and they fixed it by installing the new starter clutch. The trike cranks right up now. But I noticed after picking the trike up I now have a oil leak. So I need to get a new gasket installed.
Take it back I am sure it is leaking from the Side plate they took off to replace the Starter CLutch or the Oil-Seal on the crank. Alleyoop

I removed my air tube. I also had to remove the inside of the left rear compartment and the air box to get the starter off. The teeth look good on the starter motor. I had a guy that works on starters check it out and he said it is in good working condition. So I guess my next step is checking the starter clutch. :/

Thanks guys.....Yes new2scootn, I noticed my connection when taking the pic. When I take the intake hose off I will reattach it better and keep my eye on it in the future. I will get the starter out tomorrow. I've got my fingers crossed that it is just the starter motor/ bendix.

Am I on the right track here? This is the starter hidden underneath the air tube: This is one of the two bolts to be removed: After removing the two bolts I then will wiggle the starter out in this direction?

The video was made after the battery was fully charged on a trickle charge. What purpose does the engine oil have with the starter clutch? The starter clutch doesn't have contact with oil does it?
