They are our pets and we call them palmetto bugs. We live east by the ocean, the critters are more prevalent out west the closer you get to the glades where the gators live.

Sorry fellas, down here in South Florida I ride my scoot almost every day, to the gym and over to the beach passing by all of the palm trees and bikinis on the beach. In the morning for a sun rise over the ocean. Gotta love it! Great place for a scoot!

It doesn't matter that is a Norton, it is still a classic bike. I would be happy if they did an old Norton for me! Awesome story.

Hey KZ1000st, I know the 3cylinder 2 stroke Kawi's that you are referring to, the came in 350, 500 and 750 and they were all fast as hell. I myself enjoyed my "75" Z1B 903 4 cyl. 4 stroke and that was no slouch eighter, stock Harley's couldn't come close back then....... Ah the good old days. cometman

It has been a week since changing the "ignition trigger pickup", so far so good, no hot starting failures.
I hope that I didn't jinx myself by stating this prematurely, because it was a periodic problem. Cometman

I replaced the belt with exact replacement number (easy to do after watching video clip) now the ratio seems to have changed a little, must be spinning the clutch a bit faster on idle because it is grabbing already and spinning the wheel, it will still slip but is not totally disengaged. Any comments or suggestions from the gallery appreciated. Thanks, Cometman

Yes, I re-adjusted valves first, then changed the vacuum fuel valve, then replaced coil and plug wire, then replaced the CDI, and now the ignition trigger pickup. I have been using it today, so far so good. Thanks, Tom

I purchased an ignition trigger from SDS and installed it this morning on my 150.
Pretty easy to do, remove the flywheel cover and remove the 2 bolts holding the trigger in, I snipped the wire on the original and bolted the new one in its place, find the same color coded wire at the CDI cut and splice the new one in, you can just squeeze the new wire next to the other wires as you replace the flywheel cover.
It started right up, time will tell if it solved the infrequent problem of not starting when sitting for an hour after running.

What is the proper way to change the CVT belt on a Gy6 150? Thanks, Tom
PS... don't worry, I won't blame anybody if I wreck my scooter HA HA! And I do own an impact wrench

I pulled the CVT cover and the belt looks good, but I believe, slapping or flopping up and down is creating the noise on the bottom of the cover, I see a little polishing. Time for a new belt I suppose, only 2k miles on scoot. Tom

So that means replace the stator?? Which one does it have? How many poles? Or is it just a replacement part? Is there one that is recommended over another? Any part number suggested? Thank's Tom

Hey Rich, to re-adjust the valves was the first thing I did awhile back, you had mentioned it in a previous post. Since then I took the scooter out for a simulated gym ride a couple of times and brought it back and let it sit for about 90 min. to try to duplicate the situation and sure enough one time it would not start, I immediately checked for spark and there was none detected, that is how I discounted gas. I come back awhile later and it fires right up? ? CDI and plug wire and coil ruled out also. VERY FRUSTRATING!
