Sorry fellas, down here in South Florida I ride my scoot almost every day, to the gym and over to the beach passing by all of the palm trees and bikinis on the beach. In the morning for a sun rise over the ocean. Gotta love it! Great place for a scoot!

Had about an inch of snow here yesterday, quickly melted off. In the 40s this week, in the 50s next week. Thats riding weather. They are now saying that this might be the coldest winter in history for GA.. Gas prices ranging from $3.05 for reg to $355 for hi test. Went up a nickel yesterday.

Hmmm. Let's see, it was -8 this morning, perfect weather to take a walk in the path out in the field next to my house with the weatherproof dog. The path is ten inches of compacted snow sunk down about eight inches below the surrounding snow. I could be off a few inches though and it might really total two feet out there. At least that's how much is blocking my garage door right now. Global Warming my Bashan. As far as I'm concerned the shrinking polar ice caps have regrown and are now covering upstate New York.

85+ today, flash flood warnings and high surf warnings I would welcome a serious snow storm, I love them.

The roaches are fine, its the centipedes which hurt. They are mean arse creatures and the sting (they actually sting rather than bite as many people say) is roughly on a par with a stab wound pain wise. They also love to get you while asleep, usually on the traps or shoulder. At least theres virtually no snakes (the spiders and the centipedes ate them all). I've not seen a roach take anything alive (although I've seen plenty of ants take a roach) but I have seen a centipede take a mo'o (small gecko type thing) and a baby bird.
Tropical weather, it has its ups and downs, I wasn't rubbing it in when I mentioned them temps, I would genuinely love a few months of snow. Incessant tarmac melting heat gets old quickly! I was brought up in the snow and rain so this is my idea of hell, I would trade tomorrow for 4 months of snow. Not to mention 12 ft surf, great if you want to surf, soul destroying when you are trying to do a photo shoot in the water. I managed about 60 minutes swimming in it before I was totally exhausted. Not to mention the flash floods, 6 inches of rain in 90 minutes lol. trust me paradise is nice when you want to go to the beach, but living here (whilst I probably wouldn't chose to move) isn't quite the postcard it may seem lol Seriously, I left a hex key on my plastic socket set case in the sun for all of the 2 minutes it took me to undo 2 screws and burnt my hand picking it up. I burnt my legs on the tarmac and had tar literally sticking to me and this is in winter remember, and in a place that actually gets some cooling breeze.

They are our pets and we call them palmetto bugs. We live east by the ocean, the critters are more prevalent out west the closer you get to the glades where the gators live.

I used to live on the Isle of Palms off the coast of SC. I loved the weather. The only thing I didn't like were those darn fire ants. They are such a pain. You pour insecticide into one mound and the ants laugh at you while they just build a new mound. It's a worry when you have a pet that goes outside into the yard. I have heard tell of fire ants devouring small animals. I hate fire ants. That is the only thing I like about Ohio,. It doesn's have fire ants.

The last couple of days here have actually been warm enough to ride. I rode to market today to pick up a few things. It felt great. Global Warming is actually kind of a weird name for it. The true name for it is Climate Change, and the planet is warmer than it used to be. Although - what it causes is hotter summers and colder winters. Don't think for a minute that those glaciers that have been there for millennia, which are melting, has no effect on the weather... we're in for much more severe weather overall. It's going to get harder to produce food, raise livestock, and ride scooters. That sucks.

Sucks for our kids. It is supposed to be 54 here on Friday a little north of Pittsburgh. I plan on shaking things out a bit. I do have one of the plastic panels off though, it wa cracked and I just glued it and need to sand it down, primer and paint it. So my scoot will be a bit neked.

I agree with scooterchick. all we are experiencing is the normal ebb and flow of earths climate. Has gone on for a long time. It was in the 70s here today and I had a good 30 mile short ride. Definately improved my attitude.
