I went through the same thing a couple of years ago. Even after changing out the stator it took two more regulators and one resistor because then my lights would go bright when I grabbed he brake.

Drop down about 2/3 rds on the forum and you will see *Library*. Look under electrical. Tons and tons of info there. As to your question, could be and/or both.

The correct terminology is chinometers ;D Closer to miles, but not quite. At any rate, due to staying on top of things it has served me well. Also, has only seen sunlight when I am riding. Luckily able to park for free in a parking garage at work where motorcycle parking is free.

Thanks! Wanted to ride without the noise so stopped and snagged a VW bug muffler tip clamp which will suffice until I can get it welded. By the way, like the black, looks clean!

Exhaustion

Have had a stainless exhaust on the scoot for a couple of years now and have developed an acceleration rattle at the connection of muffler to header pipe where the two springs hold it together. The fit is just too loose. I can clamp Vise Grips on it and noise goes away, but looks pretty stupid. Have been wondering if something like one of the old VW bug exhaust tip clamps would work. Short of just having it welded, that is about the only thing I can think of unless one of you geniuses know of something that would work better. I'm all ears (eyes). Thanks!

Here is what I have used to fill my tires when the bead doesn't seat properly: www.harborfreight.com/1-inch-x-15-ft-ratcheting-tie-down-47708.htmlI wrap the strap around the circumference of the tire and tighten it up real snug. I do it while the wheel is still on the scoot and it makes it a lot easier to fill with lower powered air compressors. Cruiser is dead on! I have had to use a rachet strap when replacing valve stems. PITB, but seems to get it done.

Did a quick search, but didn't see anything. Scoot died 3 blocks from home last night so pushed it the rest of the way. First thought out of gas. Nope, 3/4 full, have great spark, no fuel to carb, nothing in fuel filter so arse U Me'ing the vac unit out at the tank? First oh chit!*($&)( at 18000 chinometers. Am I pointing in the right direction?

Cut the smaller OD springs down on one end to get the right tension and then re-hook it. Alleyoop That was the first thing I tried. The smaller diameter ones just did not have enough tension and they hummed like crazy. Looks like header wrap then. Fugly but functional.

39 yesterday morning. Scooted out of the garage, down the street and had to stop at SS. Almost went down due to wet leaves with frost on them. Un-puckered myself, road home, started the truck to warm up and called in late. Was 30 this morning so knew better, but did go home and scoot back at lunch. As long as streets aren't icey I can ride most of winter as commute is so short.

Guy here at work is still healing up from getting a lap dance doing 65mph on his crotch rocket last year (Sept 2009).

Re: Stainless exhaust system on 2006 Tank 150 Racer.
Developed a loud rattle last week and upon checking it out I found that I had some how thrown both of the springs that hold muff to head pipe. A trip to an Ace Hdwr and grabbed a couple of springs. The springs are some stiffer than orginal, but the issue is the OD. Acceleration causes a harmonic vibration and it sounds TERRIBLE. The springs are vibrating against the pipe. Short of wrapping the pipe with header wrap any other ideas as the next smaller OD springs are too light tension wise.

Re: 2006 Tank GY6 Lost battery charge, changed regulator and diode. Battery charge is spot on and no dead battery anymore.
Problem: Turn signals exceptionally bright and when either brake handle is pressed headlights go waaay brighter.
So b/l switch bad? Shorting to ground? Bad regulator?
Anybody? Before I start drinking.....
