Sorry, didn't mean to pick and choose. Just forgot I coulda copied the entire link vs one by one My Bad And, Yes, I agree, if you're buying the salvage scoot for YOU, and not with the intention of selling, then by all means, get the best bang for the buck. I was only trying to compare the resale value of salvage vs non salvage (I've had the same discussion on my Shadow forum) And, yes, I also buy to ride/drive/keep forever My GF gives me grief for all the sltuff I got in the house from the last 40 years of my travels around the world, cars I've had for 35 years, etc I resell nothing. so, I agree with ya and enjoy the new scoot, whatever you paid for it. Enjoy the Ride

Since I started this post I can add up that if you think logically you are buying Vespa from a dealer you will spent 5000 and you will try to resell it after a year I'm not sure if anyone will like to spent 4500 for a year old one but even if they would. You loosing 500 after year of using it. But if you buy salvage title for 2000 dollars and you will try to resell it for 1500 so you loosing 500. The same value will be lost on both bikes. So what is the point of complaining if you don't think logically. Of course with all respect. I was and always will be honest to people who bought bikes from me and the worst thing is when people are trying to lie about title. We are in the business for a long time and my customers coming back but not with complains but with their relatives. CIAO i totally agree with greg. who cares about the salvage title?? if i can get a vespa for 2000, oh ill jump on it. , so cheap. i willl for sure buy a 2000 used vespa with a salvage title than a $4k worth of chinese Rocketa. jeeez!! 1. I forgot that Luke was the Chinese basher 2. The discussion was VESPAs - Salvage title as comparred to NON Salvage Title 3. I don't recall this thread being Salvage Vespas vs Rocketa 4. Luke, save your disdain for Chinese scoots for Alley 5. And, if anyone can find me a Trike,(not an RT or a Piaggo that still need to be balanced by someone with TWO feet/legs) for under 3999 let me know.

We are in the business for a long time and my customers coming back but not with complains but with their relatives. CIAO OK, but what I'm not understanding , is, the Vespas you have salvage titles on, are 5 to 10 years old, and you're still asking anywhere from 1500 to 3000 for em. I did a totally unscientific survey of vespas in my area (and denver) and found used vespas for around the same price as your salvage vespas. (Mostly 05's and 06's from 2000 to 2500, and one guy who really loved his 06 for 3700) I'm not saying a salvage title vespa isn't gonna run as far or as long as any other, I'm just saying that any vehicle with a salvage title isn't gonna sell for the full value of a non salvage titled vehicle. I'm not here to bash anyone, just saying that 'title wise', a salvage title and a reg title will not normally bring the same resale price. denver.craigslist.org/mcd/3705075745.htmldenver.craigslist.org/mcy/3717141818.htmldenver.craigslist.org/mcy/3717242617.htmldenver.craigslist.org/mcy/3711051260.htmlmansfield.craigslist.org/mcy/3697539736.htmlcolumbus.craigslist.org/mcy/3683589282.html

I was a biker (Goldwing, Shadow, Magna 750) Now I'm a triker (no left leg) I would be a scooterer if I could put BOTH feet on the ground (Inside joke-I only got one foot)
But, I think the Morphus, long, low, lean, fast, like a greased dildo, is the chit.
Maybe if I get a leg that works, I can get one.
Either way, bike, scoot, trike is kool no matter what

I asked that cause, I don't know nuttion' bout scoot engines. I've been riding Goldwings, Honda shadow 1100's and a Magna 750, and the general rule on all of em are that if ya change the exhaust or get a hi air flow filter, ya gotta rejet. Wasn't sure if these 50/150/250/300 cc scoots used the same logic.

Is the increased air flow gonna make any changes to the way it runs, carb adjustments, different jets, etc etc?
I like the idea of a cold air intake, butnot sure how it's gonna effect teh air/fuel misture, and running.
Thanx, looks nice

Rule #1: Dress for the crash, not the ride. Were you wearing a helmet? I never ride without a helmet, be it a Goldwing or a scoot.
From your explaination, it appears the van was in your blind spot. Which, to me, means, not just look in the mirror, but you gotta turn your head just to make sure.
also, I generally ride in the far Right lane, or the middle lane to give me more of an escape route. I ride the far Left lane when passing, running wide out. But on a city road, I stay in the slow lane and let everyone pass me if I'm gonna just to the speed limit.
I've often prepred to make a lane change, but suddenly saw a vewhicle outa the corner of my eye. Them blind spots can get ya every time.
Glad you survived with little injury to yourself.
The next thing to think about, is how you could have prevented the accident. Not to be rude, but it sounds like this was all your fault, not the van, even tho the van driver never stopped.
Main thing is, you survived OK, I assume the scot is OK, and you learned something new.
Thanx for reporting your new life experience
Dave

Agreed that a salvage title is a negative thing if ya wanna resell Anyone buying anything with a salvage title best plan or being the last owner.
