Well, uh, Luke, I would hate to break it to you, but if you're working on an engine and you screw up, that's your own fault..if I took apart a Kawasaki motor and over tightened the crankcase, you know what would happen? This:  Chinese or not, nobody can overcome human error! |

Well, as of right now I have my 50cc scooter, and I've ridden my Dad's 150cc before, so I know there is an extreme change in power when it comes to displacement. However, I'm looking into possibly getting my first ACTUAL motorcycle. The bike I'm looking for in particular is a Kawasaki Ninja 300. I don't plan on buying new, and I don't even plan on having this bike anytime soon, either. I was just wondering what everybody's opinion is, and what they would recommend for a first ACTUAL motorcycle. Don't think this means I'll be getting out of scootering, because I won't. I love to ride my scooter, and it takes all the effort out of riding a two wheeled bike.
By the way, I've never operated a clutch in my life. So that's a factor too.

This is my wife's second run in with cancer. Twelve years ago she had breast cancer and beat that. The worse part is that they do a survey to determine your susceptibility and she always scores low. She has done everything you can possibly do to prevent having the disease and it hit her not once, but twice. I'm hoping that once she recovers she gets back on the bike. It's just sitting there lonely and waiting to be used. I may have to start using it just to keep the dust off but it's hard enough just keeping three bikes in motion without adding a fourth. In better days.  I'm glad your wife beats the s**t out of that cancer. I lost my mother to lung cancer almost three years ago, and I have a very passionate disgust for it. You don't realize how many people it's affecting until it takes away someone you love. Take good care of your wife. You and her will be in my prayers  |

I did use a torque wrench and torqued everything to specifications. The thump goes away when warmed up. It sounds like it's missing.

Uh, I really don't want to say that it has an issue, but I think it does. What would cause a sputtering sound while riding that comes and goes? It sounds like a steady "thump" and does it regardless of RPM.

I got it done today. I took a plastic straw and put it into the spark plug hole and got perfect TDC, and then tried like 4x to get the camshaft on perfectly. Needless to say I got it eventually. Got the rocker arms on and assembled everything except the exhaust. Just to make sure it ran I started it without the exhaust and muffler (sounds like a giant bubble maker!), sure enough, it ran! Tada! Thanks you guys!

So we tore down my brothers engine today because he needed a new head, turns out he had a big bore kit installed that we didn't know about (that's why it's so fast..) and we couldn't use the rebuild kit. So we got the old head helicoiled at the local shop (they're fast!) so we arnt having trouble with the head anymore. The head is on fine, but I feel we may have messed up bad, because I put the camshaft back on one tooth off and kicked it over (key off) to make sure everything felt fine. Things did NOT feel fine, and I took off the tensioner and everything AGAIN and found that I had put it one tooth off, YIKES. I tried to get it to top dead center again but the chain slipped off the camshaft and now I have no clue where top dead center is anymore. Did I just blow it?

So after a LONG LONG time, we finally got it running! The stator was NOT bad and it does not need a pickup coil. It ended up being a fried CDI. $82 for a Hyosung CDI later, and we have spark! It started up instantly after we put the plug back in |

Does anybody know of a fuel sending float that won't be destroyed by my gasoline? I keep having giant chunks of my float coming off and going into my tank (there's a piece in there now), and this is the second time I've replaced the float. What do I do?!
