I had the same problem, replaced the regulator/rectifier but did not fix the problem. Then replaced the stator and that took care of the problem.

I just purchased some tires from motorcycle-superstore a couple of weeks ago. Their site comes up fine on Firefox for me.

mcalli,
My scooter is listed in my signature, a 2008 hyosung ms3-250 ($4299 retail).
This is my second year with Foremost. The first year it was only $146. When I went to my agent to cancel my insurance with Progressive, they said they carried Foremost insurance also, I didn't know that but I had already went directly to Foremost on my own. They looked it up what my insurance premium would have been through them, and it would have been a little higher going through them for some reason. The second year I went back to my agent to get the insurance through them, I like the idea of having a local agent.
Here is what I have for coverage: Part A Bodily Injury - $100,000 ea person/$300,000 ea accident Part A Property Damage - $100,000 ea accident Part B Medical Payment - $5,000 ea person Part C Uninsured Motorist - $100,000 ea person/$300,000 ea accident Part C Underinsured Motorist - $100,000 ea person/$300,000 ea accident Part D Collison - actual value less $500 deductible Part D Other than collision - actual value less $500 deductible Additional Coverages: Optional Equipment - actual value not to exceed $3500 Towing/Roadside Assistance - reasonable expense each disablement
I think these are the minimum requirements in Illinois, you might have higher coverages or a lower deductible.
I believe location can make a lot of difference with rates also. If you live in a heavily populated area it will probably be higher than if you live in a rural area.

I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to compare rates. People with a lot of infractions on their driving record would probably have higher rates than people with a clean driving record. The value of the scooter or motorcycle would also make a difference. I have a dui on my driving record from 1999. My insurance agent I have with my car said my insurance will drop big time on my car next year if I keep a clean driving record. Not sure how much difference it would make on my scooter insurance, but it probably affects it some. I think the best way is for each person to get quotes from multiple insurance companies and go with what is best for them. When I had my 150cc chinese scooter, my insurance was less than it is now with my Hysoung 250cc because this scooter is worth a lot more.
But for those who want to know, my insurance premium with Foremost is $164 for a year, also includes towing, I was paying over $300 with Progressive for the exact same coverage (I'm not 100% sure but I don't believe Progressive included the towing).

Maybe I should join AARP then to see how much more of a discount I would get. At the time I just did a search on Google for motorcycle insurance and saw that AARP recommended Foremost, so I got a quote from Foremost. I was happy to see my rates almost drop in half from what I was paying Progressive. Wonder if the discount through AARP would be enough to pay their yearly dues?

You don't need to belong to AARP to get Foremost insurance though. AARP just recommends them. I don't belong to AARP and just contacted Foremost directly after hearing that AARP recommended them. The rates will be the same whether you belong to AARP or not.

I had Progressive before I switched to Foremost, and my rates dropped in half when I switched to Foremost with the exact same coverage. Foremost was recommended by AARP as the best insurance company for motorcycles so I got a quote and was glad I did. I also got the towing with Foremost and don't believe I had that with Progressive.

About the same here also, but at least we're not getting the floods that they are getting in the south, so I hate to complain too much. Seems like it goes from the 50's to the 80's, nothing in between. Either cold or rainy or too windy. I've been out on the scooter twice this year so far. But I've been busy doing a lot of home improvements inside so it hasn't really gotten to me too much yet. Just hope when summer gets here that there will be a lot of good riding days.

It was in the 30's over the weekend and felt really nice outside. Today I just got done snow blowing the driveway and sidewalks, it was 27" deep in my front yard (there was probably a foot of snow on the ground yet from before this storm hit). Gets down to 10 degrees below zero tonight. Really gave the snow blower a workout. I just keep thinking that every day is getting one day closer to scooter riding again. Got some work done inside the house this winter though, got the entire inside of the house repainted.

Well, we don't have as much snow as you guys in the northeast, but we've got some wonderful, CHILLY weather coming our way this weekend. Saturday Night - 5 inches of snow Sunday - High of18 degrees and 45 mph wind gusts, 2 more inches of snow Sunday Night - Minus 2 degrees Monday - High of 7 degrees and blustery Monday Night - Minus 9 degrees (yep, below zero) I want summer.
I'm just hoping that the Patriots can't keep their footing on the football field this Sunday and the Bears win again. That would make for a great weekend.

Had 6 1/2 inches of snow over the weekend. High of 16 today and down to 1 tonight. Scooter is put away until probably April of next year. Extended forecast says we could get several inches of snow on Thursday.

It got near 70 today, around 20 degrees above normal. I took a day of vacation at work so I could get one more day of riding in. Then got it polished up for winter storage. I'm not a fan of riding in the cold so this was most likely the last of riding for me this year. ccprof, I just love this ms3-250 (same as your xpeed). The engineering on this thing is great. When I had the chinese scooter, I would always wonder when it was going to be leaving me stranded, but this scooter seems so reliable I don't worry about that anymore.
