I just got a return on a chat from motorcycle super store as to why I can't see any content on their web site. They say you have to use IE on it now days. I use linux and firefox so in my case they have prevented me from any further purchases there. I have bought many tires and other things in the past there. I think I have found maybe one or two other web sites you have to use IE on in the last year. Was looking to replace the shoei helmet I was wearing when I got body slammed in june. That is some real stupid marketing on their part. I doubt if IE has much more than a 1/3 of the market share of browsers today. john

I purchased my new Michelin tires from this store a few weeks ago. It was one my best purchases in recent months. Great price, great shipping service, and their "Preferred Installer" program was a wonderful experience. My local Honda dealer wanted about 50% more for the tires, and about $20 more for the installation. I highly recommend Motorcycle Superstore. I had no problem accessing the website via Firefox rather than IE.

I use FireFox and just connected to the super store.
Maybe you have something else standing between you and the store.
I do agree that MS is not the giant it once thought they were. Many folks try not to use MS if they can avoid it.
I just read some stuff on PC shares and most PC's are built with MS. But for many folks they immediately install a different system like one of several Linux or a FireFox. This does not get regular accounting at all. I leave MS on my computers for the automatic updating of lots of things MS likes to support. But I usually never use the MS part on my PC's for daily usage. MS has always been on a buying rage since they got started. I think many times just to end competition and other times to speed up development of a product by buying something they really wanted to market. They would buy at the competitors name but soon that link was lost and they started using a name of their own.
MS is an interesting company and I think the PC world would have done just as good without them and their oppressive ways of getting rid of good competition. .

I have 3 computers and tried 2 of them. One has PCLINUX running the latest firefox and the other has PUPPY LINUX with sea monkey for a browser which is an older toned down version of firefox. I just came home with a new helmet, a lot less than I had planned to spend replacing the shoei. Might just as well give the local shop some business, I knew they did not carry the high end helmets so I was prepared to use super store. I got all kinds of good deals there in the past but when they told me they now have their site optimized on IE, and I needed to use it to buy there I am done doing business there.
And further, I believe microshaft has done more to hold back the computer industry than any force in the world. They have squashed all compitition using any means possible. How would you feel if say chrysler did the same for the auto industry and all you had to drive was a green dodge?

I'm not familiar with firefox or linux so I'm not sure if I am even making a point, but I am on Safari and had no trouble opening their site. Shally

I down loaded chrome last night and now I can get the super store. Guess I am behind the times. Chrome is the most popular browser going too. I don't care for it much as they built it with ads as first priority. At least with firefox there are lots of free ad on's such as popup blockers and ad blockers, Also I have "no script" it selectively blocks web sites from loading garbage scripts and speeds up things quite a bit.
Wish web designers and browser makers would stick to agreed on protocalls, then all web pages would work on all browsers and all pages would display the same.

I have a love/hate for these type of mega stores. First they don't and cannot buy direct the products that they sell. The Evil Empire and WPS distributes to them. In some cases TR. Sometimes they don't even stock the product, it is dropped shipped from WPS or the Evil Empire. But they have large minimums to get the volume pricing and the salesman who has that account is eager to please, Again the consumer wins. Great for the consumer but It devalues a high end product to discount store pricing junk. Then the local dealer who supports the Sport has a tough time selling anything. I don't see these mega store's sponsoring or co sponsoring anything! The M/C industry is quickly going the way of the aftermarket auto industry. We used to have Mom and Pop Speed shop's, who raced and provided a wealth of information face to face. Now its Summit(Walmart) or Jegs. if the computer doesn't tell them what to do there clueless. Support your local dealer. Good Day!
