rapidjim That would be great!! Though it probably won't get traction, because early this year I replaced the rear sprocket (because I was putting an $80.00 sealed O-ring chain on & didn't want to put a new chain on used sprockets), & discovered a problem in the differential.. So I took the differential apart & found 1 bad bearing all the spider gear shims were all chewed up.. I got Ice Bear to replace the differential under warranty, but at the same time there was a discussion about the transmission gear box problems & they said if they warranty the differential that they wouldn't warranty anything farther to do w/ any gear box issues.. Well, that's another sign they knew there were more up coming drive issues.. I sent the pics to Scooters Dynasty & they forwarded them to Ice Bear, but Vince at Scooter Dynasty fears Ice Bear will reject the claim.. The above issue will be how they get out from under my claim.. I can't hold this against Scooters Dynasty because Vince does his part w/ any of my Scooter issues, a little slow to respond, but that's most likely an Ice Bear issue as well..

A Doc's The Reason Your ICE BEAR TRIKE JUMPS OR SHUTTERS is because of faulty case or from stress & strain dew to torque & weight.. What a depressing day.. Just got Bear reassembled, so the parts don't get lost... Everything in the transmission gear box & it's components are in good shape, all of that jumping I was getting last fall & part of the winter went away, then came back about 3 times over this last couple of weeks.. I believe there's 2 possibilities, 1) The left side engine case had a flaw in the casting of the final drive where the bearing was held in place, allowing the bearing & shaft to move, which allowed the teeth to jump, breaking out the casting, or 2) The final drive shaft was flexing dew to all the torque & weight (400 lb + 260 lb = 660 lb) & causing the gears to jump teeth & busting up the case.. I'll bet that's wolfhound's & his body's problem too!! Here the kicker thought, remember over the winter the email I said I got from Ice Bear that they basically said there was a known problem in the drive train, but nobody would say exactly what that problem was?? Well listen to this, I call Scooters Dynasty, & they said the 150cc trikes are no longer available w/ a reverse gear box because of all the problems.. NOW IS THAT SOME crap OR WHAT?? David Sr.

Alley Right now I'm trying to find out $ & availability of gear box & or parts, but there's no parts list for just the gear box... Thought the gear box is part of engine, which is still under warranty until the end of September... Right now I'm just about ready to open up gear box to have a look see, but I can tell you it's not good (not pretty), when I drain the gear oil I heard bits & pieces hit the bottom of the bowl, & it's nasty thick & solid silver... Hell there may not even be anything left in there at all!!!

YO DAWG'S BAD NEW, BEAR OPERATORS!! We'll be finding out exactly what the Gear Box in the trikes consists of........... I headed out for Syracuse, NY this morning, had to maneuver around a little to get turned around so I could get out the driveway... Well, it jumped a couple of times in forward like it had in the past (but hasn't done it in a long time), then it seemed OK, got about 15 miles or so, & all of a sudden it goes RIP!!! Sounded like it took every tooth off the Gears.... Needless to say, BEAR DOESN'T GO ANYMORE!! BEAR IS BROKEN!!

trixrabite Do some searches.. You can convert your AC system to a DC system.. There is some documented AC to DC Conversion mods for GY6 scoots floating around in various forums, I've seem them... I once considered this mod for HID Lighting, but decided it wasn't worth it to me.. Besides vehicles that are not factor equipped w/ HID is not legal for HID lighting...

Hay Doc's Does anyone know what the charge rate is for a GY6 charging system?? I know for an automobile the charge rate should be at least 13.75 volt, but wondered what is for the GY6 engine...

Well, Well, Well!!! Just for the heck of it, I thought I'd try a different angle on this 14mm Iridium spark plug.. I hadn't been able to find 14mm Iridium in an NGK plug.. So just for the heck of it I cross referenced the Denso Iridium IWF22 plug, which brought up a NGK Iridium BR7HIX.. Good Deal!!

Doc Rich Ya, I'm run a side gaped plug in my "08 Longbo scoot, because the head I put on it, I had to tap it for a 14mm spark plug.. The only Iridium spark plug in a 14mm w/ the right reach & heat range is by Denso which is a foreign plug, & I've only found them outside the U.S. So I side gap a standard Champion plug to get as much performance out of it as possible..

A Dr. Rich How's it going my friend?? A side gaped spark plug, turn a standard spark plug into more of a high performance spark plug w/ out the expense.. Side gaping is a method used for performance w/ in the racing industry & 2 stroke outboard industry before the Iridium & Denso plugs, & is still used by many still today.. Here is good information about side gaping & how to do it.. These links below illustrate & explain better than I can.. www.performanceunlimited.com/documents/plugsidegapping.htmlperformanceunlimited.com/illustrations/sparkplugs.htmlNow if you want to go all out & fancy, check out how to index your side gaped spark plug... Click on the link below & scroll to the bottom of page.. youroilshop.com/plugs.htmNow I've only side gaped spark plugs & have never indexed one, mostly because I haven't found anyone who supplies 10mm indexing washers.. Need to have an engine machine shop make up different thickness 10mm indexing washers.. David Sr.

3 year warrant for the lawnmower!! That explains it all then!! Did it come w/ an operator to?? Because the 3 year warranty tells everyone in the scooter world you must own at least one, or possibly more then one Chinese Scoot w/ a GY6 engine, because if you didn't you would surely have time to fix a lawnmower.. I know w/ owning 3 Chinese scooters, LORD HELP ME if anything around the house breaks.. Need a full work force if you're going the own Chinese Scoots.. ;D ;D
