What about HEAT? Bulb temperature that is... Have read that HID's get very hot, maybe too hot for plastic head lamps. I know Halogens get hot as Hades but not yet heard of one melting someone's plastic headlight. Are xenons even hotter than halogens or are some just going all 'Chicken-Little' about the whole deal? Any folks with HID kits on their bikes... What's the skinny?

I like the ones that you posted. Can they only be found online? Dunno' but that's where I found them: scootrs.com/moreinfo.cfm?Product_ID=356Hey . Those lights look like they would be a good candidate for a group buy! I don`t know if that is done in the scoot world or this board , but I have participated in some on other boards that I am a member of and realized great savings... Can't speak to that suggestion (new here) but at $4.49 it's not that important. Shipping for 2 was $11.95.

No piece of cake here... snow would probably be much deeper if it were powder but instead temp hovered right around 32 since last evening when this latest event began piling up 8-12" of heavy packing stuff... like wet cement. Temps are forecasted to drop about 10 degrees after front passes so then it can be hard set cement! Still falling lightly as I write this, supposed to taper to zero additional late this afternoon or evening. Partial State Shutdown in effect, only essential services scheduled (I'm one of those ) until tomorrow. Typing this on my lunch break, now back to the galley oars.

I'd like to go Xenon on my 150 and have been looking at 35w HID kits from Asia., both appear to come with 3 adapters to ease bulb install: www.aliexpress.com/store/800833/209643573-357807315/Free-Shipping-Motorcycle-Scooter-HID-Conversion-Kit-6000K-Scooter-Parts-87706.htmlSent message to each asking if they are bi-xenon (Hi-Lo) but no response yet... can anyone tell from looking at the pic(s)? My Eton R4 has the crappy B35 twist-in bulb... twists into the socket which in turn twists into the headlight lens/reflector housing: I DID find these 35W Halogens that will fit right into the OEM socket: [ C dimension above should read: "20mm (3/4")"... really .78"] Definitely want to upgrade the lighting from that stinkin' flashlight it came with. Any advice those more familiar with B35 headlamps and HID kits can offer would be GREAT!

... I have envisioned mouting another jug onto the engine case Ducatti style... Rich That would be some deal... both cylinders 180cc big-bore kitted, and a wide journal stroker crank! Kinda' late to this party but enjoyed reading about it. I'm liking the stainless pipe you chose: I already had one in mind for my 150 but that could change. Where did you source that from, can you maybe post a link? Steve

VERY nice Hammerspur! Both bikes are gorgeous. Great job on the air cleaner Hammerspur, you should market those puppies. Thanks very much! A lot of hand work, one-off stuff on both bikes You from Ohio? I grew up in Toledo. RichNo, Rhode Island. Took that pic of myself as 'documentation' on a 3 day ride I took by myself... I got sick of waiting for the other guys to get it together and do a road trip!

We weren't ignoring you, I responded over on the 50 to 200cc board ;D. The Tiny Tach works the same way and performs just fine. I saw the one that went up to 8,000 but didn't mention it or the others that do the same because the GY6 routinely goes over that. I've never run into the 15,000 RPM job and am interested to see if it works for you. Let us know! Rich Oh, you mean here: scooterdoc.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=150cc&action=display&thread=2637Forgot to check that one...

wow , i like the look of the second tach..very sporty...mine is digital.. does that need some type of calibration before installing? or just wire it up and go? nice...thanks for posting, a buddy of mine just bought a 150cc chinocycle,,i'll show him this tach..maybe he's interested. From what I read here: www.thumpertalk.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-793139.htmlIt needs to be programmed for the application and a line connected directly (unswithced) to the battery to maintain programing memory or it will revert to base settings. Go to the Koso NA site ( www.kosonorthamerica.com/ ), navigate to "Gauges..." and click on "Scooter" in the dropdown - 12 pages of stuff!! BA481B17 (pictured above) appears on P.10.

Now that is a really nice looking ride. I love the old bikes they had class, many had bad electricals but we used to put up with that. Very nice job on the windshield and lower wind deflectors. Maybe a small pinstripping in the gray would set it off. Alleyoop Not sure if I'm misunderstanding your post (forgive me if I am) but the 3 Kawasakis on this page are all year 2000's, they're just old styled and the electrics on these bikes are awesome. I put extra lights and lighting features/functions, air horns, etc. on the 2 pictured in my post with nary a glitch.

Here's a pic of me with my much altered '00 carbed 1500 Classic and the same bags: Here's my brother's '00 Nomad we built last year: A couple shots of the air cleaner I fabbed up for the 'Gonad':

What would the generally accepted redline be for a 150cc GY6?
Mine's a Taiwanese model, E-Ton Beamer R4. Hoping to find an analog tach that will work on these... any ideas where one might?

I've been scouring the web with no luck Does anyone know a source for analog tachometers compatible with single cylinder GY6 scooters?
Multiple references to digitals like "Tiny Tach" but would much prefer a sweeping dial gauge, alot more user friendly IMO. Keep thinking surely someone must offer one
Anybody know where these might be found?
