... The cvt transmission... I put in a higher flow air filter, CAUTION there is a reason your trans has a air intake filter, much of road dust is actually Crystal rock bits and will screw up your belt and variator face surface, those little sparkles you see on the road are "asbestos" and highly abrasive, so the CVT filter is a must... No OEM filter came on mine but I was planning to install a screen.

Still looking for some stuff for my E-Ton R4 refurb/mod & re-style project. I want to delete the long rear fender hanging off the end of the frame. To shield the undercarriage and modified intake replace it with a low tire hugging type something like this: www.partsforscooters.com/100-16_GY6_Rear_FenderOr this : www.scootersgeorgia.com/refemudgu.htmlSize needs to work with the 12 inch tire and a longish one without the shock cut-outs would be preferable... I'd mold dents or make cuts myself as needed. Better still would be a generic plastic fender the right diameter that is radiused side to side... fab-ing up a mount system and trimming to desired length is no biggie. If anyone knows of something that sounds like either description above can you let me know, maybe post a link?

Ah yes, the Cafe' Racer, icon of my youth which is now long gone... Cut my 'big bike teeth' on home built Asian speedsters. Also had the 1st purpose-designed street legal Japanese track bike, the '83 Honda V45 Interceptor. I've a later iteration of that Honda in my present two wheeled cadre, a '96 VFR 750. About all I use that power and stability for now is for brief summer evening runs going like Hell on the interstate... 'long gone' indeed.

Can't see the 'coil' you speak of, but the white material... on the back ? Block of non-conductive material to keep components isolated from frame ground? Does seem odd! Just enlarged the pics some... Is that white thingie the component you mean, not the finned R/R? Ceramic, heat resistant material?

Sure looks like a rectifier to me. www.wemoto.com/info/Regulator_Rectifier/Probably a better one than the non-finned type which are prone to failure due to overheating. (Ask me how I know that! ) This is the upgraded/relocated unit on my VFR 750:

Day or two back I heard mention of 'Northern Lights' activity on the news while doing something other than paying attention. Guess that was what they were referring to. "Fried to a crisp"... figuratively speaking, some of us have a head start.

I'm only interested in the Daytona 200. On four wheels if they just go 'round in circles...
