Good step-by-step on the oil measurements, etc. Not sure about the 30w fork oil selection, really depends on what OEM viscosity was. More than a grade or two heavier fluid would probably yield very harsh action. You can use stacked washers or varying lengths of PVC tube for infinitely adjustable spring preload spacers. Heck, my apx. 700 lb. Vulcan has PVC spacers in the 1" lowered front end with 35,000 mi. on them.

the 35 watt halogens will screw right in the OEM socket tho correct, how much better are the halogens then the oem bulbs do you think? what is the osram bulb part number so I may order else where. also very nice orange hibiscus in back ground I guess the Osram question was meant for me...? Well since the bike is in pieces I haven't tested the halogen against the 35W incandescent but it couldn't be any worse. The base of the Osram bulb is marked ''BA2Od'' and ''f04B'' The box bears #62327.
I haven't given up on the idea of going HID but picked up the halogens as insurance should that prove unworkable. Problem is my single headlight is configured for the B35 twist in socket not an H4 which is what the xenons usually are. Does anyone know how I could get an H4 style bi-xenon (hi-lo) to work with the B35 socket type headlamp? Splicing a conventional 3 prong headlight socket onto the harness is no issue but what about securing an H4 HID element in the headlight lens/reflector? Any suggestions?

...Seriously, there are some types of dumb that just shouldn't be allowed to breed... In case you haven't noticed those are the ones doing the most breeding.

Nice work!Looks just as good here as it did at the Dawg Pound! Still interested in the Dr. Pulley driveline... Did you ride it stock before the conversion? They say their stuff provides noticeable improvement across the board. If you get a chance some details re: off-line response, at speed acceleration, RPMS, etc would be awesome. Steve

Take the year of your birth, add your age this year, result?... THIS year. (19)53 + 58 = (19) + 111 or 2011 A wise guy at work was pulling this gag on everyone.

I go 70+ on my cruiser much of the time and on the sportbike... HELL, it makes little difference between 65 or 95, all feels about the same... swift and totally poised. I did get a scooter, looking forward to riding it rapidly and otherwise. It's all a matter of what my brother terms "scale speed". If I do 70 or 80 on the Vulcan, feel like I'm going WFO! NO clue how fast I'd need to travel to get that experience on the VFR, faster than I care to try at this point though! On a 150 Scoot I'm guessing going 40-50 with traffic on surface roads would probably feel pretty speedy... I'll find out come Spring AND after doing mods/upgrades & putting it back together.
