I have some gasket material and clear RTV. That ought to do the trick don't you think?

I'm not Alley, but I would check your owners manual for service intervals. I check mine every other oil change. So far so good at 1900 miles. I never ride on dirt roads. If you do, I'd check/change more often.

Can the gasket be bad? It's only got 1900 miles on it.

How many miles you got on that thing now Matt? I hit 1900 miles this afternoon. I find every excuse I can to ride the darn thing. still need to change out the starter clutch and replace all the gaskets using red RTV sealant instead of clear, but since Allyoop never said I'd blow up my engine, I just keep riding it.

What's the trick to getting your gas tank to stop leaking? When I fill up, if I don't have it on the center stand, I get a pretty persistent drip until the level in the tank drops below the float level gasket.

You are correct my friend, that would be a real stretch for a 150. Now Beebos is a 250 vertical, the same as my Fashion. Mine will hit 75 given enough time on a flat road. It is feasible with a little tweaking touching 80 is possible. Alley is talking about using gravity as a booster but there is the abrupt stop at the bottom. I jerked around with a Bashan 150 for a couple years and hit 64 if I remember right measured with a GPS. It was shrieking and didn't like it one bit. I was headed a little bit downhill too. Having said that, MonsterGY6 builds GY6s that he says will pop 75. Having talked with Steven I would say that's true. His motors sell for $1,000.00+ and his bikes for much more. But consider, they are all BBK and no longer 150cc. Go look online and see how big 150 ccs is and tell me how that could easily move a scooter over 80. Now look at 50cc and tell me how it moves the damn scooter! Now look at your gastric capacity and tell me how you got all those damn ribs down last Tuesday! That's right, I'm watching your arse...I'm watching all of you! Put it down TW...just put it down. Alley, hand me that BBQ sauce will you? I smell bacon, is Jack here? Rich. Bashan! You might have the worst case of ADD I have ever encountered!

My Lifan 150 speedo is always about 5mph faster than GPS after about 15 MPH. *contmplating buying a TaoTao*

Hell Matt, I just saw that 100 people have viewed this post but not replied so I thought I'd throw you a line. I'm with you buddy. I'd love to go 100% LED. I'm waiting to hear how your quest to do the same works out for you before I make the plunge. I'm anxiously awaiting tales of your success. The common phrase among those of us in the engineering department at my last job was: "You get respect for doing it first, but you make money by copying that guy and doing it second." Thanks for the link Doc! So far I have LED blinkers for front and rear and for the mirrors. They are working fine. Also, the LEDs int the instrument cluster, license plate light and running lights are great! But, I'm still in search of the right set up for my headlights. They drain the crap out of my battery. love reading abut your new scoot.

There's only one fuse on the bike, and as soon as I started it after that little hiccup, I went straight to Auto Zone and bought better fuses. I'm still running the spare Chinese fuse, but I have 5 high quality replacements on board. Did you go with the same type of fuse, or did you, switch to the wedge type? Glad your brake situation seems to be working itself out.

Man mx maxx this scooter has gave you a lot of problems I am sorry hope you get it squared away. At least the fix wont be to costly. I think if you keep riding it the way it is it could leave you stranded but alley im sure will look at this and give you a heads up. Thanks for the support jvino. I put about 20 miles on it today without a prob, but I've got to get the clutch changed out ASAP.

Will I destroy my scoot if I continue to ride it with the clutch in this condition until I get a new one?

Yep that sounds like your Starter Clutch bud, notice it made the sound when you went to start it and it quiets down when revved. The Clutch is still engaged and not releasing only when enough rpms are applied will it release and allow it to free spin. Alleyoop Well that sounds a lot better to me than a crank or rod bearing going out. Is there something I can do to fix it short of replacing it. Did I tighten something down too much?
