Can't help with this issue but, the Schwinn name has been on low quality bicycles, made in China, for many years.

I have little experience to bank on but I would say that sounds like it's operating as normal. When you let off the throttle the clutch disengages. When you accelerate again the clutch re-engages and starts pulling again and off you go.

Here in Wisconsin you would need motorcycle license for a 50cc. A "moped" must have 49cc or less. Probably why most dealers/owners refer to there 150cc scooters as "mopeds".

For several weeks now I have been cruising the scooter trike forums hoping to get some feeling about scooter trikes. A few years ago I sold my Honda Goldwing Motortrike. Two months ago I purchased a used Linhai 260 scooter because I wanted to let the wind blow through my body again! I have enjoyed the scooter, but I felt like I would enjoy a trike even more. Now I am not to sure about the scooter trikes. It seems like, as a whole, they are more trouble than they are worth. I owned my Goldwing trike for about 10 years and never had any issues with it. Nothing came loose, nothing fell off, gauges always worked, no belts to replace, etc. It rode down the road smoothly and it could do well over 120 MPH if I wanted to do so. Of course we are talking about a ride that cost me about $18,000 as compared to a $5000 scooter trike. But if I were to spend $5000 I would expect it to run correctly the first day and continue to do so for a long time. The idea of having to loctite all the nuts from the git go says something about the quality of the build! I fail to understand why so many scooter trike owners put up with these crappy machines. Thanks to the scooter trike forums for saving me $5000! I agree that the add on kits do look like add on's but finances can dictate which way you go. The local shop that sold new and used scooters, trikes and motorcycle trikes that have been repaired recently went out of business. So it's getting harder to get a reasonably priced trike. You mentioned trike forums, could you give some links to some that you find interesting. I can no longer afford the Motorcycle Trike so the scooter will have to do. Thanks for starting an interesting topic. Richard

Hello. You weren't here when I came here but then during that time I had to take a "vacation" as well. But only 34 days.

I have used Kreme on steel tanks and plastic tanks. It didn't last on the plastic. I assume it's because the plastic flexes and opens the Kreme at the crack. I haven't done such for at least 18 years so there may be better products out there now. Especially seeing that there are a lot more plastic tanks now.

With my 3 Gold Wings (1200,1500,1800) it wasn't a frame lift. They lifted on the exhaust and others needed accommodations. So anything should be possible. Ya think. We picked up my neighbors 150cc scoot with mine.

With this style of trike it shouldn't be hard to do. It doesn't have a rigid body wrapped around those tiny wheels. The fenders could be raised or replaced. Seeing it would make the scooter look more like one of those Trailer/Trike Kits you might be able to get some of theirs.

Do you have a contact, internet link, address or phone for Trike City? I've done a couple searches, but nothing.

I had to build this to lift my '98 Honda VF750C Magna; The stack was to reach up to the pivot point of the rear swing arm. Luckily it had good ground clearance so it wasn't difficult to get under it.

I have had a similar one, 15 years old Sears model, used on my cruiser bikes, Gold Wings and garden tractors. The only problem is that for some it doesn't go low enough. For those times I drive the bike up on to 2x4s to gain clearance. It's also a bit hard to store is space is limited. Sears also had an aluminum model that is lower. But they are going out of business and I don't know who makes it for them.

In my part of the world the Sym's are some of the most expensive scooters. So, I would expect to have to pay a higher price for parts and that they are built better sounds right. Enjoy the ride.

One possibility is the one I've had again. Verticalscope again disconnected me from several sites. I had very little trouble getting back to most boards but BurgmanUSA.com was a repetitive problem.
