Need a little help with firing this engine. I've got it temp mounted in my mad dog frame and before I do any drilling or welding I want to fire the engine. I've got everything hooked up. Went with stock gy6 carb, cdl, coil etc. I go to connect stator wire and I've got 2 wires coming out of the lx50 engine. My😂😂😂😂 my mad dog harness wants those 2 wires then an additional plug with yellow, white and green wires. I've looked at the lx50 wire diagrams and maddog. Im stumped gentleman. Your assistance is very much appreciated. Thanks

with the 2 bolt valve cover. Its one of those Dong Fang 170cc had ports for an oil cooler and previous owner ran without it and eventually no oil. So piston was seized. I have a 61mm 157QMJ rebuild kit with the 4 bolt pattern valve cover. And the thing friggin bolts up! My question am I going to have problems with the crankshaft being too long? It also has one of those all in one cam rocker arm deals and I'm not sure how to line that up for timing when doing the valve job. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

2002 Daytona Xtreme 125cc Funky engine model # 151QMI, but its definitely a gy6. Looks to be of superb quality too. Lime it was the cream of the crop in its hey day. This thing has Yamaha parts all over it. The lady told she had brought it to a scoot shop and they told her transmission was going out (holy hell!) so it wasn't worth fixing in her opinion. She said it's been sitting for a year. I gave her $60.00 bucks for it. Got it home, pulled cvt cover, found it had a belt for a long case installed. I put a short belt on it. Changed gas and she fired right up!!! It's pretty darn fast for a 125cc too. Anyone know what wire to pull on the cdi for the rev limiter? There is just one problem. When I get these scoots I can't seem to let them go. I get too attached. Gy6 forever!!!!

Just wanted to check back in. You were right alleyoop. I traded out the starter clutch with one I had from a parts engine and she wanted to start but just wouldn't.
So I did a compression test with my trust harbor freight compression tester. I was only getting like 85 psi. I did the teaspoon of oil in the spark plug hole and she shot up to almost 100psi.
I will change rings tomorrow.
Thanks again #alleyoop.

Ooooops got ahead of myself. It appears it is the idler gear that is spinning freely. So could that mean some teeth are broken off the starter gear?

What's up guys? Got my latest $100 CL project. A 2011 BMS Palazzo in pretty decent shape. However was purchased from some crazy tweaker who did some crazy tinkering. My issue is when trying to start the scoot via the electric start the starter just spins. There is some compression when trying to kick start but it won't fire. For a laundry list of reasons I'm still sorting. But my main issue is the electric start. I pulled the starter and put my finger in the hole and I am able to spin the starter clutch freely in both directions. That can't be right can it? Before I split that side of the case I would appreciate some advice. I thank you in advance scooter brethren. A little background. Ran vin on scoot and found no previous title or reg history. Tweaker said MCO had been lost. Tweaker had inline fuse wire tied together with negative battery cable. Auto enricher on carb removed and plugged with tar. Scoot was full of oil but drain plug came off with finger strength. Tweaker said he had been starting it with an impact wrench. He had actually cut a hole in the fan to get at the nut on the flywheel. If this is true I suspect this is how he effed the starter clutch. ITS GONNA BE FUN BRINGING THIS ONE BACK!!!!!!!

I'm itching for a tinkering project. I may pick this bad boy up. Those of you with 2 stroke knowledge how fast can I make her go. In your opinion how easy would it be to work on? I know my way around the gy6. Thanks 2008 Gas Scooter 49cc Adly Jet Hammerhead - $180 phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/mcy/5081290904.html

Scooter had been running. It's my first pipe burn. Sucks. I've been keeping it wrapped during the day. I do masonry and I'm baking in the Phoenix sun all day. I'm on lunch right now. It's 9:30 and already 102 degrees. Love it.

Made a giant mistake and accidentally brushed up on the exhaust. Needless to say the mofo was hot. Burning flesh does not smell nice. This happened yesterday. It's still a wee bit tender.

Hey scooter gods. So I can't help but feel like this is a stupid question. But I submit, I'm still learning and seek your collective guidance. What is this Mount for. I also own a scoot with a 1 shock setup with a short case. I'm wondering is this Mount can be used as a direct bolt so I can use a long case engine in my short case scoot. I thank you in advance my scooter peeps. i58.tinypic.com/1124u3k.jpg[/IMG

Yeah I moved on. Seller was just a huge a- hole. Didn't feel right giving him money. Oh well I will stick to the gy6 - my first and only true love.
