Also, I have heard that problems like what you've described can stem from an improper float level in the Carb. Not quite sure how to adjust it though. (I read a lot and fiddle with my 50cc, that's about it) I second this recommendation. It sounds like your carburetor is being overfilled with fuel and is overflowing into the air filter. Here is how to adjust your carburetor to (hopefully) stop leaking fuel into the air filter.

I'm going to be selling a car for a family member soon and I want to know the best way to go about it. The car is in rough condition, mechanically, so I am going to sell it very cheap; probably $500 or less.
Should I go with craig's list, newspaper classifieds, autotrader, dealership, metal recycler, car-in-the-yard-sale-sign-in-the-window?

Got it. Black = ground, red = positive, green = signal. I'm actually surprised they used the conventional wire color scheme.

The analog version I bought ( here) has, apart from the wires that go to the light bulb inside, 3 wires; green, black and yellow/black. Black went to positive, green to negative, and yellow/black was attached to the positive terminal of the primary side of the ignition coil (the wire that goes from the CDI to the coil). I'm not sure how much of that translates into the digital version. I am looking all around the web for an answer. Ebay is down for me right now, when it comes back up, I'll ask the seller if s/he knows. Oh, and if you are going to buy a similar tachometer form eBay, beware of items that say they ship from just "united states" and don't include a state; they are most likely china-based sellers. The one I linked to is one of those sellers. Sorry, I should have looked more closely before I posted that link.

I've had the analog version of this tachometer on my scooter and it worked perfectly. It isn't adjustable with regards to # of cylinders or sparks per revolution, though. It is stuck at 1 spark per revolution; which is what gy6's have.

As some of you may know, I am trying to design and build my own tachometer for my scooter. I've gotten to the point where I need to somehow get a reliable rpm signal from the engine. After many different tests on different electrical parts, I've come to the conclusion that in order for me to get a nice, clean voltage pulse for every rotation, I have to do something like glue a very small magnet to the flywheel to get a signal.
Before you ask, yes, I tried to use the magnet that the ignition trigger pickup uses; it wasn't strong enough.
I need to know if gluing something that weighs about 0.6 grams (without glue) to the flywheel will cause some sort of catastrophic damage. If I need to, I could glue a second magnet of the same weight to the opposite side of the flywheel.

My opinion is that a small amount in the gas would be good. If you wish a small amount in the oil and run for about 10 minutes before changing the oil would be good. Just don't drive it with the Sea Foam in the oil. What about running it through the engine while the engine is running, stopping the engine, letting it sit, and then starting the engine up again and getting the infamous white plume of smoke; similar to how the bottle recommends pouring some down the brake booster hose on a car? Granted, you would have to squirt a much smaller amount in a scooter engine to avoid bad things happening.

Would a scooter with as few as, lets say 1000 miles benefit from seafoam at all?

M13, a youtuber, supposedly the first "motovlogger". On his latest tour around Taiwan, which he hosts, he got a little carried away looking at the scenery and crashed his scooter into a cement retaining wall. He broke both femurs, a knee, his hip, and lost half of his left hand. Warning, graphic content.

I guess I'm just paranoid about taking my eyes off of what's coming at me.
Seeing how M13 crashed has made it even worse.

I can imagine how that could give you a better view, but I like to move my head as little as possible away from looking straight ahead. I don't even like looking down at my speedometer but I do because I like speeding tickets even less than looking down. Still, that's a good idea. I was just curious about this whole thing because I (for the past few weeks) haven't been able to get my mirrors "just right." I also found a dollar-store convex mirror in one of the corners of my garage and thought, "what the heck, why not?"

Anyone ever use those stick-on convex mirrors? Would they be of any benefit to us scooter riders?

Is there a proper way to set up your mirrors, like making sure you can see a certain part of the road or a part of a car behind you, or do you just adjust them to your liking?
