1. Is it normal for one of these to slowly gain speed while going down the road? If I start off from my dirt driveway with WOT, the right rear wheel will spin in the dirt. It's fast from the hole so I don't think my belt is slipping. When I'm doing 30 mph and I open the throttle, it s l o w l y gains speed to 45. I am on flat land when this happens. Should it be a lil snappy or is it normal to slowly gain speed?
2. What is the top speed of a stock 150 and what do y'all suggest for a cursing speed?
3. The Wife has visions of me driving her and I into town for cokes (dry county). After we get to the main road, it is more or less flat, that's after we get out of the hollers. Is that feasible, could it handle two people on a main road? Top speed on the main road is 55 mph which means if we're doing 45, were legal.

Yes that is normal it is only 1 cylinder and it is only a little over 8hp motor. So do not expect blistering speeds and or tearing up the asphalt(HAHA). Also the trike itself is heavy 350+ lbs plus then your fat butt so that little motor has to pull quite a load. That is why I had my motor bored out and brought up the CCs and put in a stroker crank for some low end power and getting up to speed pretty quick so I would not be holding up the cars that happen to be behind me. I also did some things for more top end speed as well.
A stock 150 trike you can expect 50mph or a little bit more stock and it also will depend on the weight and wind.

I can show and ask now. My replacement camera just came. I broke my $200 camera working on the trike. I replaced it, same model for $35. It's in better shape then mine was. I can see I'm going to like ebay. Ok, when the trike is cold and warming up, the response of the carb is great. Cold. After it warms up, it falls apart. It's slow in idling down as you can see/hear. Any ideas on this one? Warm. |

Yes it is LEAN, the rpms should rise quickly and drop quickly to where you set your idle speed.
So Turn the Fuel Mixture Screw Counter Clockwise ¼ turns at a time and give the throttle a quick twist after every 1/4 turn to test it.

Once I get past 2 1/2 turns, it takes longer to get back to idle. I have took a spray bottle full of water and sprayed every inch of the carb and every vac hose I can get to to see if it's sucking air any where. I don't think it is, no change in the idle. It HAS to be something simple that I am over looking.

Can you take some pictures of the carb and hoses around it?
Also that big hose on that canister where does it go and are there any other hoses connected to it>
Normally any EMISSION CANISTER is operated by VACUUM now a scoot can have mutliple Emissions,
1. PAIR system, which just sucks in fresh air
2. EVAP system, which vents the fuel tank
3. EGR system, which returns unburned fuel fumes back into the intake
So need to know where any other hoses on that canister go to, to tell you which Emission setup it is and if it is hooked up or not hooked up right.

I didn't have to pull 6 panels off to find that one. By the way,, I found where the 6 extra screws came from and put them back.

HAHAHA, ok some questions. Here is a picture of your carb and I labeled what the hoses should be. I have a question on the two BLUE HOSES on the side of the carb by the throttle linkage. I know 1 goes to the ACV VALVE on the carb WHERE DOES THE OTHER HOSE GO TO?  You have a EGR system that is the VALVE welded onto you exhaust pipe, It returns unburned fuel fumes back into the carb to be burned again. I see that there is a hose attached to the AIR FILTER that hose should be comeing from that canister is it? What I think is that canister is hooked up wrong and the wrong hose is connected to the AIR FILTER and is where part of your throttle problem lies. Take a good shot of that canisters connectors.That big connecter that has nothing connected to it should be going to the AIR FITER and I think a Vacuum line is going there. Alleyoop |
