Hello all, first of all, my condolences to the family and friends of the founder. I am trying to locate the stator on my motor. I believe it is a 2008. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. Now I just need to know where the stator is. I'm looking on the left side at the long silver cover. Is it behind that? Everything I read tells me it's behind the cooling fan, but mine has an electric fan. And I don't want to just start taking parts off till I find it. I assume it's not on the right side, because the oil dipstick is there. Help......

Why do you think the stator is bad? Have you checked its output?

I was told by a scooter dealer that it is my charging system, I bought a voltage Regulator, rectifier and it still does the same thing. When it is started voltage is fine, after about 5 miles on the road it starts drawing off the battery. Then when you shut it off and try to restart it, the battery is dead

Get a multi meter and test teh voltage at the battery terminals. Start it up and rev it up to around 4-5k and see what it registers. Revving it up around 4-5K it should register 13+volts or 14+ volts. If it does not register that high with high rpms then the first thing is to make sure your battery is good and it does not have a weak or bad cell. Take the battery to a auto parts store and have them test it under LOAD. If good then you can test the stator to see if it is putting out to enough to the R/R if good then you got a bad R/R/. Ok, thanks, I've already replaced the R/R

Good but it does not mean the R/R is good most all parts are made in china and no guarantees on them. Best you can do is test the STATORs output to the R/R you probably will find 3 yellow wires they should register 30VAC and when revved 50+VAC which would tell you the stator is good and the problem is a bad R/R or battery or both. You might have a bad blocking diode, which controls the R/R to charge the battery. It is like a one way valve and is close to the R/R. I have had the same problem with my scoot. Finally found a diode that would replace the one on my scoot, does not look like the oem.

Ok, I started the scooter and the tail lights were very dim. I disconnected the stator connection and put a multimeter on the left yellow wire and the neg (from the multimeter) on the wire that is horizontal in the connector while it was running, I reved it up to 4-5 rpm's. The meter jumped to 96vdc.

Ok, so can you tell me how to check each of these wires? And what voltage I'm looking for? Thanks
