Well you Yankees can make fun of us Rebels all you want but I note that a lot of Yankee
18 wheelers kack knifed on our Atlanta express ways tying up traffic to the point of
shutting down sections of it. Our scrapers and sanders werem ready for this one and did a great job. However the weather froze every thing solid again and the black ice was terrible.
But to be fair we had a lot of 4 wheelers trying to run at 60 mph after being warned about the
situation and being told to stay off the xway. Once wrecked or stuck the wreckers could not get to them for all the shut downs on the road. Stupid is as stupid does wheather it be

Larry, he was shooting the snow and ice off the branchs to keep the tree from toppling.

Ok Troops, we just got 6 inchs of snow, Burb of Chi and I just finished snowblowing my drive.
It is still flurring but looks like it is moving out. So for you folks East of Chicago I am sending some white stuff your way. Wouldn't want to hog it all to myself ;D

Hey, what do I care? The fridge is full (of beer), the cupboards are stuffed (with chips and slim jims) and I've got months worth of sick days I can use to sit home and party through it.

I have 2 giant oaks way too close to the house. Fortunately the wind blew the
snow off and we did not getm the predicted ice storm. 3rd day now that we cant get off
the hill. Snow has a crust on it that supports my 190 lbs, all thendogs are still in shock,
the temp started mat 25 and has already droppedmtom 21 with a low predicted to be
in the low teens tonight and tomorrow night. Warms up intomteh 30s/40s Sunday and an other front may come in the middlem of next week. Am planning onm trading a scoot for a good slowmobile!!!!

The storm here was kind of a let down. They were saying we might get as much as 6" but it was only 2 - 2 1/2" by this morning. Piece of cake for us. Oh well, more will come.

No piece of cake here... snow would probably be much deeper if it were powder but instead temp hovered right around 32 since last evening when this latest event began piling up 8-12" of heavy packing stuff... like wet cement. Temps are forecasted to drop about 10 degrees after front passes so then it can be hard set cement!

Still falling lightly as I write this, supposed to taper to zero additional late this afternoon or evening. Partial State Shutdown in effect, only essential services scheduled (I'm one of those ) until tomorrow.
Typing this on my lunch break, now back to the galley oars.

Barley Soup?? Oh, right!!!!!!!!!! I had forgotten that since I quit drinking
35 years ago----kept getting in my way of chasing women. If I cought one, could not remember why I was chasing her!!!!
The bridge between here and Ball Ground has been closed due to ice so we are not
getting any mail. Parking lot at the wifes job site is frozen solid and her office is closed
for a third day and she is working from home. Still major problems with frozen roads
here in N. Ga. and Atlanta. The thaw starts Friday. Will be 12 here tonight and tomorrow
night but all should be gone when it starts raining on Monday. This has to be a record breaker for GA.. I have lived here for the past 56 years and dont remember a worse one.
