Just measured 4 inches of white stuff in my yard and it's still coming down. I'm really getting tired of moving snow off the driveway. Tonight the temp is going around 6 degrees according to the hippy-dippy weather man. I just received my 1st garden book and now I'm thinking "SPRING". I know it's early but Momma says we need a big garden this year to set off the prices at the grocery store. Wow, the prices are going up even more.

Well, here it is-Friday, and colder than a well diggers posterior. In the 20s tonight, another winter storm to hit NGA with snow, ice, whatever, due to hit next Tuesday thru to Thursday. Would y'all Yankees please keep y'alls snow up there. We really enjoyed the 6" snow that lasted a week but we dont need any more reminders of how fortunate we are to live in the usually snowless and mild wintery South.

It is going to drop below zero tonight. Last night we were down to -25 below windchill. From the little bit of snow we got a couple days ago and I STUPIDEO did not bother to clean the drive of the 1/2 inch. Well my drive is a complete ice skateing rink I need ice skates to go and get my mail at the end of the drive SUMMER TIME AND THE LIVING IS EASY ;D Alleyoop

Went to start the Jimmy this morning and the temp was +3 deg. Colderrrr than a witches tit at 50,000 ft. I used the remote to unlock the door and I thought I herd the click but I wasn't sure. I tried to open the door by the handle but the door wouldn't budge. Pushed the remote again, herd the click, door still wouldn't open. Went to the passenger side and tried to open the door and it wouldn't open either. I tried the 2 back doors but got the same results. By this time , my hands and my ears were getting the bite. Only 1 thing to do, try the back hatch. Wala, the hatch came open with a little persuasion but I got in and started the vehicle. I also pushed out the front doors from the inside. Anyway , it's -4 right now on my thermometer and I'm going to bed. My blankie is turned on at 4. Nice and toasty!!!

Luke, just noticed your new avatar. As a good ol Southern Boy I can tell that you never have eaten Possum. A two lb. Possum will render 5 lbs. of grease. Wrapping him in bacon will only make it worse.!!!!!!! And Alley is right. Those are sure are some long legs!

I finally found a temperature that makes the Black Lab come into the house in a hurry. It's 13 below outside and she's walking around like the ground's on fire. The ground has a coating of ice under the snow and she lifts her paws as soon as they hit the ground. She's resting on a nice, warm blanket now waiting for the thermometer to hit zero so she can go outside and play. My Plymouth van won't start and my son's Chevy pickup died in the driveway but the wife's Japanese car is running fine.

Don't feel bad KZ. Local school district had 25 out of 38 buses that refused to start this morning so they had to cancel school. Places up on Tug Hill Plateau are -35 with the windchill this morning. I saw two dogs frozen to fire hydrants on the way to work. NOW THAT"S COLD!M/C

OK, now that the temperature has soared up to -1 I have the Chevy and Plymouth running. It's amazing what a small battery charger and persistence will do. I don't even think there were frozen gas lines involved since they eventually started. Hateful fuel injection and solenoids, pumps and sorcery that failed under depressing temperatures. Give me back two barrel carburetors.
