Didn't do anything exciting. Took it for a ride when I ran errands. Gave it a nice big drink of 92 octane.
Hitting a turkey would be definitely bad.
Rich - you're lucky. Sue rides with you!

Yeah, we just got back, did about 20 miles through the countryside of Chelsea. She's the one bugging ME to go out now! She says it's relaxing, I have to agree. I think the Amore has changed my riding habits, it's definately a putter, not slow by any means but not a screamer for sure. So I tend to look at the scenery more and take it easy and she easily keeps up on her Bashan which is much faster. Now, when I get MY Bashan redone we'll see about screaming a little, those rides will probably be solo, and infrequent. Anyway, nothing wrong with running errands on a scooter, much more fun! Rich

I rode to my 12PM class. I think I'm cursed. Every time I get on 2 wheels, the winds get nasty. I got batted around rather badly so I took the cage to my 3:45 class.

I put on 110 miles yesterday. 57 of that was in winds gusting to 45mph. I do not want to do that every day that is for sure. Was my first day taking new scooter to work. I hope I never had to go threw that again. I was so tensed up from that ride home last night my back is killing me today.

I been putting on about 7 or 8 miles a day this week going to the senior center for lunch. with the damn knee hurting and now my back from favoring it. I am debating weather to take it or the car up to the lake where i usually fish. if I take a car I'lltake a few poles and a handfull of shrimp. at least i can still ride a little. damn pain meds do not work and called the va about it today and they were going to get back........would give any thing to be able to take a long trip now that I have decent ride. You guys gona have to put up with me. pretty well made up my mind I am done with the dawgs unless lee has enough balls to get rid of medman and the mods who supported him. is good he is back, medman got rid of the people who did the most for that forum. have to excuse me, I just feel like crap, got pain from middle of back to my left ankle. john

Well today I fixed the POPING at low throttle coming to a stop. I posted the problem on the CHEAP EXHAUST PIPE thread. But its all fixed then took a 5 mile ride to test it out. Came back and the Wifey wanted to go and get some More Plants to Spiff up our backyard. Well the Spiff up cost me $300.00 Then I planted almost all of them, now my Back is hurting and I will sleep like a baby tonight. Then got on to see how the stock market was doing and HOLY CRAP the $300.00 was nothing to what I lost in my IRA Alleyoop

Changed the gear oil twice.... lol. Im really tired after work today but I wanted to change my gear oil. So I did! Then I came in and looked at one of the manuals (online) to check about how much I should have put in. The manual had a different bolt circled than the one I put the oil in! So I had to go back out and drain it just to make sure I put it in the right place. Which I did. If you look in the Arrrow manual it has the wrong bolt circled. I put in more than the 80ml it has in the manual. I put more than that last time and no problems. So I guess its probably wrong too. If my lil can is right I put probably 5 oz in it. Still never came out the fill hole even when I leaned it over a bit. Took it for a short spin around the bldg and all seems well. One of ya experts know how much it supposed to be? -Zug

I hate being so tired. So 80ml= 2.7oz. So I drained a lil bit back out because 5oz might be too much ;D

Zug, I have a Motorino very similar to yours (Amore). I don't have my manual with me but I do remember reading it through and I ended up filling the gear case while on the center stand until oil dribbled out the fill hole and stopped. I didn't measure cc's, just did the standard GY6 gear oil change and it seems fine. By the way, you sound about as OCD as I am, it sucks doesn't it? I drained all the oil out of my pressure washer pump and refilled it because I had convinced myself I put too much in. It was perfect of course. Rich
Zug, I looked everywhere on line, 99% say fill to the top of the hole. I put a short tutorial in CVT Tech, if the rear of your transmission looks anything like the one in the picture I think you're safe filling to that level. The only exceptions were obvious, they had a fill hole high on the rear cover, you'd definately have to measure for those few. Rich

Bummer Zug, maybe it's good it happened at a slow speed though. I had a windshield break off of a Beemer 800cc fairing back in the '70's and slammed into me at 60MPH, very exciting. Is that a Honda Shadow you're talking about? Anyway, I hurried up and changed the fluids on my Motorino Amore (200 miles) because the wife said she wanted to go on a ride after lunch and then she backed out because she was too busy with work. Grrr.....well at least it's done for a ride Thursday now. Surprisingly the oil on this Znen was crudier with a hint of black metal residue in the cup than either Bashan was at the first change. I would have thought otherwise. Also, I had a helluva time getting the oil in the gear case, it's like there's no air vent anywhere to let the oil in. Who knows, you can't see a damn thing under a classic. I love that scooter but accessibility sucks. Rich

Well where did you get the 3oz quantity figure? My manual said "fill gearbox"; great instructions! Also, I started with a full bottle and I bet I didn't get 150ml in there after subtracting all I spilled. That must be around 3 oz,......I hope. Nice shadow, always loved that bike. Rich

The Arrow manual said 80 ml which from what I can tell from conversion is 2.7 oz. You put a little over 5oz in there. I havent heard of anyone having problems filling to the hole so Im sure your fine. I just wanted to do the 3 oz. Ilm gonna drain it after 500 miles just to make sure things are going ok in there. -Zug
