Got it all stripped down today. I added more pics in the album I linked to earlier in the thread. s740.photobucket.com/user/DrRocco/library/Scooter%20Pics I took out the carb and got it opened up. I need to swing by Fastenal tomorrow afternoon and get replacements for the screws I drilled out as well as one of the luggage rack bolts. Two successful days in a row.

An interesting story. That hose you have circled in green is not supposed to be attached to anything. It's for future emissions in the exhaust system if it becomes required. That hose has vacuum in it and near the end is a small canister with a one way valve in it. I had it go bad on me and the scooter started to run badly. I plugged the hose with a bolt and have lived happily ever after. Do the same just in case it goes bad on you.

Totally agree Dippy. I've learned a lot from that dude. I can't wait for the weather to break so he can continue with the "Project TaoTao" series.

I'm on monitor 24hrs/day....waiting for the conMe too Luke. I also see that the temperatures in Yuma are in the 80s every day yet somehow you're not writing about weekend rides, special trips or attending motorcycle events. I'm guessing your scooter is broken down again and you're embarrassed to tell us. Buy a Roketa Luke. Now that JR is here he can tell you himself about the 800 mile trips he does on his. www.weather.com/weather/today/Yuma+AZ+USAZ0275Sunny and 83*, no mileage updates?

I doubt he will answer you KZ just like he didn't answer me on his credentials! On a side note, last Thursday we had a bit of a break in the weather, 22 degrees above zero, so I test rode an Ice Bear 50cc scooter , was fun watching out for ice LOL. Customer was supposed to pick it up on Friday but we got 14 inches of drifting snow and temps below zeron again. Wonder why he didn't show until Monday with his truck to take delivery. LOL.

That canister you circled is for the PAIR system. You will find a hose coming from the bottom of the valve cover attached to a valve built onto the valve cover and the chrome pipe attached to the side of the head along side the valve cover. What that does is suck in FRESH AIR into the exhaust port. So one of the hoses on the CANISTER is hanging open to get fresh air in and the Canister is operated by VACUUM. Sounds like I should just leave the PAIR system alone then... at least until it starts causing problems.
I'm happy, and a bit surprised, to hear the positive feedback about my PDI so far. I'll be honest, I thought that this was all just standard stuff one needs to do to a Chinese scoot. Sadly, it will probably be Sunday before I'm able to do any more work on it.
