The valves are very easy to adjust and be sure not to over tight the adjuster bolts when done. You should hear just a little tap when right...

kz is right it most likely is just a connector, they do not use the best and they get a little moisture or the wires work loose in them. If he has not checked and set the valves, it is a 2011 so it has some miles on it.

Gravel roads and scoots do not mix... Most scooter riders here in Florida only wear a helmet as they do not have insurance. If you have insurance you are not required to wear one. One stupid law...

Yamahas are good machines too... I used to ride them when all they made was 2 strokers... I sure do miss the Chino Magnum, was a blast to ride
Magoo - almost 12,000 miles on my Wing now that is 5,000 miles in the last 2 months...

Water cooled and fuel injection is the best way to go but you do pay for. My Honda Reflex is water cooled with carb and I love it but would like to have fuel injection like my Silver WIng it is so nice and trouble free.
