Pulled bike from storage, remember we moved there last year, and went to register it. First thing said was its chinese so all the paperwork has to go to Hburg, that will take 6 to 8 weeks. Next thing is if data plate is not on steering column it is illegal in pa. Conclusion here is Harley has sure done a great job! Oh yes it no longer matters if there is a title from another state Pa starts all over again and if there is a problem with anything it is the scooter owners responsibility to get the Mfg to correct it so the bike can be registered. Second conclusion is Pa has just outlawed scooters! Why the JCL has the data plate under the seat, The wildfire has it mounted on the frame, the Ice bear has it on the frame so my conclusion is 4 grand was wasted unless I want to move states again!!!

And our current ruller wants gas to cost the same here as in euro? 1 gallon = 3.8 gallons so that says about $8.75/gallon. Bet there would be a lot more scoots here if that happened!

Just what I needed to read. Going back to the state we moved from and getting my Wildfire that is in storage. I currently have a Va. title and the bike has been tagged insured and inspected there as a motorcycle although it is a 49 CC. Ill bet this is going to be a real thrill, then again since it is a wildfire, was titled and tagged elsewhere, it might be a piece of cake.

THinking here that there was still crud in the bell and the brake parts cleaner had not dried before riding so it baked it. Another suggestion I read on another site was to put a teeny amount of graphite on the clutch pins amd also use a drill to clean up the three holes to get the crud out. TRHe graphite helos the clutch action and makes it smoother.

Wish I had a pic, a friend opened up his cover by dremel tooling some of the depressions that came stamped into his. Its not a lot but now the cover is cooler and a allows some of the crud that collects there to just vent out.

Centuries ago I had a Filtron filter on my motocross bike. It's about the same thing as a Uni. You have to oil the Uni filter same as a Filtron. I raced in mud, rain and snow without trouble. It even looked brown from the crud that caked up on it instead of it's true green color. Oil repels water on a foam filter. Whoever said the Uni traps water is all wet. Thanks KZ, Ive been skeptical that it is a not a bad filter and suspected those that complained they trap water do not oil the filter, or do not oil it properly.Lets face it its a sponge if not oiled.

I have used many UNIs and K&Ns and prefer the K&Ns.. they are just a better filter. Beware.. they are many Chinese K&N look-a-likes and they don't filter squat and you could ruin your rings running them... LOL so its which is the K&N, and which is chinese? Imagine that the Chinese making a copy of something. rolf

Hiya doin Bashan, that is exactly the same filter I intend to put on. I'm also replacing the exhaust and changing the main jet. Can you recommend the proper size for the jet. I'm doing just fine thanks. I ended up with a 110 jet on that with out a performance exhaust so you're probably looking at 112 or 115. You'll have to get extra jets and just keep experimenting. I had so much trouble with the mounting bracket that they sent me with the exhaust I finally said screw it. It ran great with the stock so what the hell. I did use the chrome manifold because it held the carb more securely but I couldn't tell any difference with the performance or the jetting.Hi,new guy here...I have a Keeway hurricane and made the mistake of drilling 2 1 inch holes in the air filter cover. Hey new guy, welcome to the monkey house (Vonnegut). If anybody drills too many holes in the air box just duct tape over them until you get the right mixture. I have actually used that method to adjust the mixture, it works. On the 49CC Wildfire I drilled two 1" holes, left stock jetting. Found on cool days it was too much air, so I taped them. Experimenting with this I found tape on one hole helped on cool days, (air is denser on cool days), in the summer on hot days the two worked great.

That sounds like the PAIR system...the canister is actually a carbon filter...it is VERY easy to flood that system if you overfill the gas tank.. so never fill it more tan 80% or you will be walking... Yep, been there with the Ice Bear! Lets think on this one emission control leaves scooter not running, THank you EPA, or Thank you China Engineer?

With reading's on various sites seems a lot of owners are removing or blocking the EPA crap on the valve cover. By doing this the vent hose is eliminated. Now i am wondering if the elimination of the vent would cause any problems? What do the rest of you think?

Gas raises here, on my last post one station had gone up the other two on the streach had not. I noticed on Saturday that the other two have gone up to $3.49 a gallon from $3.32 overnight. Here we go again, any side bets it will roll over $4.00 a gallon shortly?

From the pic's you posted it looks like the top side of the latch is hitting on the back side of the lower latch considering the rough edges on the plastic. It also looks like the metal u-shaped part on the seat has never latched because it appears the paint has never been disturbed. To me it indicate's an an allignment problem, not a height problem. I had the problem on my Wildfire way back when it was new and was able to move the lower latch toward the rear of the bike a little and bent the upper latch ever so slightly. Once that was done I then had a problem with the lock mechanism being too tight and twisting not releasing because when the lock moves the cable moves with it. I fixed that with a long plastic tie anchored to the frame and all is good now. Final thought the wildfire seat hinge was tight. I loosened it up just a tad so the seat could move back just a smigen. All this has resulted in no problems even have no water leaks into the compartment. The latch on my JCL is tight but I just sit on it a little further back than normal seating position and that works for it. Hope this helps.
