Thanks for the tip on the red tanks, all these years I have never had a problem, but then again Ihave never trusted gasoline and have kept the cans in the shade to minimize evaporation. LOL I was a gas fitter with a master license for natural gas and propane, and I nave never trusted gasoline at all, too many variables with temperature expansion and volatility.

Yop must be gas raised 9 cents a gallon overnight here at the Get Go. Dropped 4 cents a gallon down the road. Hmmm could this be because so many christmas food shoppers at the food store that owns get go sold so much food over the holidays? I bought 1/2 the stuff we needed at that store and acclumated 94 cents a gallon off, but i cashed it in when gas was down at Xmas. 30 gallons for 2.92 per. Yep 10 gallons went in the truck but 20 went into cans for the other things including the scoots.

I feel as if I have been suportive to Jay, but his last comment is crap. Who in their right mind would take a new bike totsaly loaded, run it the way that bike was run, and expect anything but failure! Sorry Jay your experience at this point to me has changed to a lesson in how to ruin a bike!

Seems to me when quality is being talked about C.F. Moto comes up as being above the pack. Its kinda like years ago when other makes of cars claimed,"Rides like a Cadillac"! Their 150's water cooled, fuel injected, bigger tires and great braking are above par, but the 250 still has me looking for Spock to appear! No offense meant here Rich or Cookie, I think its a great bike but the cosmetics dont do it for me, Then its could br like cancer, maby it will grow on me. ROFL

It really comes down to EXPECTATIONS... If you use a 150cc scooter for what is was designed for...urban transportation... and run from 45mph to 55mph you will have a fairly dependable ride if you change the oil and adjust the valves etc... Most of the problems with Chinese scooter are the owners frankly... Hey Sprocket as Dave on Storage Wars ,YYYEEEEEPPPPPP, you hit the nail on the head!

This thread reminds me of all the stuff we went through on the mid 70 to the mid 80's cars. I think the requirements are so loop holed the manufacturers do what they can to comply but face it how much emissions can a little 50 or 150 emit? I remember the 302 1978 Mustang with 4 speed was exempt from a cat and actually had that on the sticker the MFG. glued to the valve cover. That combination had nothing except a fuel canister for fumes and a PVC. The v-6 had all the emissions junk you could imagine for the same year. Its a game we all have to jump through the hoop on, and if we can eliminate the loop we are better off. My wildfire has the old style valve cover and have had no problems. The ice bear 50 has all the crap and Im ready to junk that its such a pain in the butt! The JCL 150 has the emissions and while a vent for the engine is fine dont think it needs to go where it is going!

From years of riding, when I have to pass a car I watch the steering tires. If the car is changing lanes on you you can see the front wheels change direction before it becomes a problem. Not in defense oc car drivers but theey dont know how to use mirrors they just aim and go, opps forgot, aim talk and go, opps not correct yet, aim talk, text, and go.

Since Ii don't have water cooled(YET) i will comment. Had a mustang that had cooling problems probably due to the mild,LOL engine work I did. At that time we had to buy the racing version, the stuff U use was not available then any way. Solved my cooling problems PRONTO. Use the stuff its great!

Disc Brakes

Most people don't use the brakes correctly... 85% of your stopping power comes from the front disc.. you use both brakes on a scooter to stop. Properly adjusted rear drums are fine.. they prevent the rear-end cutting loose on you.. which is what it is supposed to do... The front disc stops the scooter...the drum stops it in a straight line... The only advantage to a rear calliper is the pads are easy to change than the shoes on a drum LOL Sprocket it popped into my head there are many scooters that never make it to brake pad replacements from all the homer work done on them.
