Funny that you recommended that place seeing it is about a half hour away from me....
Guess I'll make a trip over, have a look and talk carbs.
Thanks again cy!

Michigan backroads will rattle a tank apart.....
Loose wires as far as the fuel gauge but the speedo is cable driven so would bet that something internal has become loose to limit the readout.

So was talking with a coworker about my truck headlight lenses, how I was going to wet sand them and polish like I've done on prior vehicles to take care of the cloudy yellow lenses.
He said deep woods off and a paper towl.
With great scepticism I got home and tried it, liberally soaking then wiping them off and damn if it didn't make them 10 fold better.
Not sure how long they will stay clear but wow I'm impressed!

Maybe you are creating a greater vacuum than the carb..
Check that too.

Noticed the wear mark was a ways back from the top so with no governing washer that can only mean that the bushing is too long for maximum pinch.
Maybe that is the governing on some. I'm thinking I can get away with at removing least a 1/4 inch but I plan on an eighth and so on from there.
Just trying to feel out what has already been done.

Anyone that has taken material off the bushing for the pinch rate of the variatior, how much did you remove and what gains did you get?

This is awesome! I've been 140+mph on a crotch rocket I've been 140+miles on a road bike But I can say with certainty that I've Had more fun at 40mph on a 50cc moped Than ever before, with my knees in the breeze at a leisurely pace the slow life is for me.....

Cleaned, resurfaced and new belt on. No mods to mention, No pics or issues. Internals looked good so back to riding.
Bone stock with new belt gained me 2mph.
Going to wait to monkey with stuff till it's too cold to ride. Till then 45 is good enough for now but I will get 50 or better from that Garbage with ingenuity and minimal money.

Thanks cy, I'm on it.
Now I can see if it has the governing washer and possibly trim off some of the spacer for some added "illegal" fun.
I GPS'ed it at 43 on flat land before it seemed to run stronger so if I can get 50 I'll be a very happy semi professional moped racer.....

Have the same problem! Fortunately the ones that give me issues have a crosswalk button, so I throw down the kickstand and walk over and press the button.
Although I have no problems bombing through a light after I see that it isn't going to change.
