To be honest with you the remote starts and alarm system on scooters are not worth the time to play with. I took both my fabs off the key rings and put them away. Use your key less headaches in the long run.

I was under the impression that white smoke means the engine is running very lean. I know about the exhaust being white when it's cold, but I have no idea where he lives.

Idle screw is easy to get at. It sits on the right side of the carb. You must be thinking of the A/F screw which at the bottom of the carb.

Alley A/F screw is under the carb. First thing I would check is the enricher. Check the pins on the connector from the enricher, then check to see if you are getting voltage to it.

Do you have the Honda or Yamaha clone engine in it?

Bob, you don't want to go out and buy Honda parts. Not that they won't fit in most cases, but the cost is up to 10 times what you will pay if you order over the internet.

I agree with Alley get the coil as well. Worst case you have spare and don't have to wait by ordering one.

rob00757 If you put 7,000 miles on your rear tire which was a a Avon Stryker you did well. I was able to get only 5,000 miles out of my Viper rear and as you said the front just goes and goes.

If you are having a problem reaching the cable just remove the bottom side panel. You will be able reach up easier because of the CVT cover being in the way.

I think you may have a DC CDI. My 54b has a 6 pin connector 2/4 which I believe is AC.

How old is your 54B and did you ever change the blue antifreeze which came with the scooter? If you are running with the blue stuff, you need to drain and flush your system several times, then use Prestone 50/50 mix once you know it is cleaned out.

Hey Mike, Yes I have been doing a lot of scooting. I can ride almost all year long expect for when it rains and when we get our week of real cold weather. I have only put 3,000 on my car last year and that was going on weekend trips or vacation, otherwise it's scooting along. Doing the valves are the biggest pain as the exhaust valve which is usually the problem is located in a hard to reach area. I think the two times I did the valves the exhaust was off and the intake was fine. Heard later on that the exhaust valve is usually the one which needs adjustment. Since then I've put 5,000 miles on it and no valve problems which causes stalls.

For some reason the exhaust valve is the problem. I have adjusted mine twice so far and both time the intake was fine, but the exhaust had closed a few thousands. Mine has gone 5,000 miles since the last adjustment and still runs great and doesn't stall.
