So it seems as there are 50 or more Chinese/Asian scooter manufacturers, obviously some are a whole lot higher in quality than others, I can see that from the several I own. My Diamo seems to be better quality than the Kinroad, but Diamo got out of the scooter business, possibly by making a better unit, but not being able to compete because of price, who knows. And the Zongshe Z-Bike had been so abused, (by a redneck that used it like it was a rukus, it looked like one when I got it) there was no way to tell what quality it was originally. Now my question is: What are the names of the "good ones" and what are the names of the ones that should be avoided and why? I do realize that most can only be identified by either the manufacturers tag, which can be hard to find or missing, and others can realistically only be identified by the first few characters of the VIN number. Jeff All input is appreciated. Thanks

You might want to run an ad on Craigslist saying you fix scooters at affordable rates.

WOW grocerygetter, you are willing to put up with a lot more crap from assholes than me.
Simply explain, that your time is yours.
If he would like to purchase some time for you to look at his scooter, that can be arranged, and that it is time plus materials, no negotiations on material cost or parts.
Especially since he refuses to work on it himself.
Time costs $100.00 per hour.
Or he can drop it off at the motorcycle shop across town somewhere.
The person sounds like a leech.
BTW - will you fix his car for free, it likely needs an oil change, his toilet is likely stopped up because he is so full of crap, and his lawn likely needs to be cut since he is lazy.
I don't want to come across as a smartass, but sometimes you just have to draw a line.

From the looks of her scooter, there are a lot of body parts that have to be removed, in order to start removing side covers.
