I have looked around the net for a 232cc crate engine and I am not going to even get involved with trying to get one of those. Though it is what I want to price is a bit much to pay right now since I am going back to school for my Masters (all loans, no grants). BUT I am going to build another 200cc and might decide to run EFI instead of that hard to tune 30mm CVK. I have had many an expensive lesson, and I am cool with that but this time, failure is not an option.

That is the problem in my area, so I decided up undertake my 200cc project and the lessons learned I know I can build one better this time. I know its about being extremely attentive to exactly what you are doing. I love the challenge. But I ill definitely look at this engine from scrappydog and hope that is a true 200. I have found 180cc kits for 380. But many of the parts I have left are superior to the parts sold in the kit.

I have to build an engine for the Tao Tao and I am just browsing and looking at how and what I to do. I know the 232cc is a little pricey, but so is doing a 200cc (correctly), I am interested in your thought and experiences with that engine if you have one these monsters.

I never meant to cause a problem, I am a novice at building engines but I do know it does not take a rock scientist to build one of these engines. I did use a bit to much gasket sealer on this but in retrospect, I was trying to guarantee that there weren't any leaks. So if the gasket sealer determines the quality of the parts and the build, then flame on.
Walter : I bought the cylinder kit from Scrappy dog.
I was teetering between building another or to buy one from Monster, but at this point I am going to build. I bought quite a few parts and money from them and I appreciate the service, but I am going to shop elsewhere.

I am definitely going to do this today. Here is my question. Since the bore was not done properly and the cylinder unable to be seated properly, COULD this have caused the piston and cylinder to become misaligned causing the damage that happened?

Yeah I bought both sides from Monster earlier this year, and between school and parenting I did not have a lot of time to get it straight until I got back from Italy. I am quite sure that if I were to complain they would deny any and everything.
Walter: That is a 63 mm bore case.
I am not sure what happened to cause the problems. I adjusted the valves and fixed on oil leak and put it back together. I adjusted the Carb and cranked it up. Took it up the street for about 100 yards and the engine stops. Everything was torqued and the engine sounded great. Its looks like the connecting rod gave and I do not know why.
I have been buying little stuff here and there to improve the engine and calling scooterelements so much that I think of Walter as family now. He helped a great deal with getting it to that point.

Alley: I bought that case from MonsterGY6. I hope it was not a dremel job.
Yeah I worked hard and it hurt when it crashed BUT I was extremely happy of what I learned and how I did something new and though I only rode it for 10 minutes, I conquered the beast. I will be building another engine by months end.

Thanks Guys will do that this morning. I also added a new NCY Teflon intake instead of the stock on of the aluminum one I had earlier. but if I am having any more issues I will definately ru the stock carb again today.

I finally finished Project Over My Head and I have a little more bugs to work out tomorrow. I am able to ride fine with no issues up to about 25 mph. When I try to give it the beans it starts to break up a great deal, but will simmer down and once I get out of the throttle and cruise on. Here is what I have done since he last I posted.
63MM BBK +4 Stroker Crank 61 MM NCY head High Torque Starter New Stator New Solenoid NCY CDI NCY Direct Ignition Coil 30MM CVK Carb A14 Cam Heavy Duty Start clutch
Thanks for your help Guys!!!

With my power max, I have a long spacer that goes on the back of the swing arm that attaches directly to the wheel, and then I have a short one that goes in the front right behind the nut.
