Thanks guys. Gonna try those things this a.m. I did check to make sure I had fuel in the clear filter and if I had gas going into the carb and they both seemed fine. That is a 30 mm CBS carb and I am going to go back to the stock carb to see if that has any effect on this issue as we'll. I am very close and yet so far away. Once again Thanks guys for all of your help.

I know justbuggin' but its at my mothers house because she has the garage and it is in her way. Dad doesn't care but her on the other hand. Not to mention if I do not make the time to work on it, I never would. I just started working on my Masters and that is so stressful, the scooter is a nice diversion.

good luck with this build wish you would have taken more pics as you put it together Thanks. I would have if I weren't being pushed for time and being frustrated with even building it.

Alright Alley, You were right the variator was the issue, now here is the second challenge of the night.
I put the engine on the bike tonight and turned it over and the engine tuned over flawlessly; but, the compression forces air out of the chain tensioner. I must add it is a brand new tensioner is new and the gasket is new as well.

It actually is a 150cc variator, I ordered a new one today with the shaft and I hope this works. I took the old crank and placed the entire assembly on it. Meaning kick start gear, and variator assembly and I have the exact same issue with the clearance.

I am thinking of using this crank instead of going with the 4mm crank. Do i have to add shims or anything other than putting the engine together?

I have finally decided not to build a 232 and stick with a 180cc and let it be done with that. I have decided to purchase another scooter and I absolutely love the Honda Ruckus. But the price on these do not seem to fall which is great from a resell aspect but bad from the perceptive of people wanting one.
Peace makes a clone of this scoot and I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this particular model. I want to know the good, the bad and the ugly. Because although I do not want to spend the 2600$ for a Ruckus (probably only to mod later,) I will.
Thanks Guys!!!

I am going to purchase a 232cc crate engine from MBE and the drum back that is included with the engine accommodates the larger 16" wheel. Now if there were a way for me do downsize the drum bakes that come on the engine, I am game for that. A few years ago I converted the drums on my 84 GTI, it was during this hard project that I learned that drum definitely beats disc but you are right the looks are the only benefit.

Does anyone know of a website I can order new wheels from since I am going to have to convert over to a disc brake setup on the rear?

I am getting ready to buy a crate engine from MBE and was told that the GY6-B engine drum brake set up is larger than the brakes on my scoot. Does anyone know what I have to do to convert my wheel over and or where do I find a wheel to accommodate the larger drum of the new engine?
