I don't particularly like riding in rain and never have to unless caught out in it. That scooter is made for it and I like it. For my riding that is not in rain, I detest having a windshield on a 150 as a 150 doesn't go fast enough to need one .....except in the rain,....but I love yours complete with a wiper! I believe if I was still working I would buy an automoto to go to work on. Where I used to live when I was working would have been the perfect place to ride one. john Yeah that is were its most useful for sure. Although I feel safer commuting on it period because people see it, notice it all the time. I've almost been hit on my other scoot in heavy traffic because didn't see it. Not sure I believe that but maybe its true to an extent. This one people say looks like a really tall skinny car until you get close to it. This made me feel better because I knew they could see it from far away as well. I didn't want the expense of a car just for the rainy and cold days. But I have grown to love this thing more than I thought possible.

Nice vid. I was wondering what kind of camera setup you used. I noticed that the picture was pretty much straight ahead all the time. When I ride I'm always looking around and checking over my shoulders so I'm assuming it's not a helmet cam. Yeah - its attached to my helmet sticking off the side. When I am filming I do my best to keep from randomly looking around alot, but sometimes still do. I have the 89 dollar Midland XTC camera that walmart sells, it records in 720p HD and is awesome for 90 bucks. All mounts are included with that price. Can't go wrong with it.

Thanks Roy - honestly it is funny looking and certainly far from what I'd describe as sexy! LOL
I have my other 150 that I like alot and my motorcycle, so I only brought this for commuting and functionality. It has been the most practical vehicle I've owned.

I love it, but I miss riding red after a few days of rain. It's been raining for almost 10 days here. And again tomorrow more rain / snow / sleet so I'll be on it again.
Top speed is about 53 on flat, 48 to 50 going up hills, 45 on really steep hills. Top speed about the same as the other 150 I have, but getting to it is alot slower on this one.

So I decided since people always ask me what kind of roads and speeds I ride the Automoto in daily, I decided to record the whole 42 mile ride home from work yesterday. I trimmed all the red light wait times out, and cut the whole trip down to 18 minutes so people can see it riding on almost every type of road and traffic. And of course its still raining here so thats in the mix to.
I thought my ride was 38 miles each way, but yesterday clocked on my phones GPS app and its 42.6 miles, for which the Automoto's odometer clocked 41.9 for so it's pretty dang accurate, then I realized that meeting my friend for lunch down the road is another 4 miles each way so thats adding 8 miles a day. Then I realized that I ride 1.5 miles past my house to my daughters school to pick her up, and back again everyday so another 3 miles and I realized I am putting 95 miles a day total on it. Then last night I set out to hit the golds gym and realized thats 6 miles each way so another 12 before the days over, now I am up to 107 miles a day - I realized why the mileage is growing so fast and I am changing my oil everytime I turn around LOL!!!
But all this started me thinking this bike is a pretty reliable machine because I haven't had any real problems in quite sometime. I do wish they made a longer lasting belt than 5000 miles because that comes for me pretty quick but its not bad to change so I won't complain. Once it warms up I am going to split the mileage up between my motorcycle alot more during the week because I know I am killing this little 150 with 500 miles a week of riding.

THANKS FOR THIS POST
I got 14. 300 it can be done.
tho i no longer recommend china bikes, many work well, please discuss in detail your riding habits.
and please comment on the old saying--
Fast starts and stops mean a fast stop to the bike. I don't know what sort of riding habit details your looking for, I ride it almost everyday and my commute is 84 miles a day round trip so thats where the miles come from. This is the slowest trike around so fast starts just don't apply LOL.... I cruise at speeds between 45 and 55 depending on what traffic is doing or usually cruising at Metro Atlanta's traffic rate of 10mph or less I have two Chinese gy6 150's and both have been very good to me so I don't see where all the negativity comes from. I get that the Honda is a nicer bike Im sure but everything mechanical suffers fatigue and will have problems, thats just life. A good example is my friend whom I ride with some on weekends bought a Honda PCX which is a sweet scooter, but almost 5000 for a 125cc I just couldn't spend anyhow at 19,000 miles he's stranded on one of our rides due to front wheel bearing failure and he acts shocked that it happened. Things happen to everything, even those most expensive bikes will break. Thank got for Progressive Roadside assistance so that Flo will come rescue me (I hope anyway)

Lot's of miles can be logged on a Chinese scooter, with proper care, regular preventive maintenance, and good riding habits. And they are a lot cheaper. It looks like his best riding habit is to ride a lot. Roy The shop i use for things that I can't / don't feel comfortable doing tells me that. Using it everyday is the key - vehicles aren't made to sit for a week or more at a time then be expected to perform. This results in leaks, clogged carbs and the list goes on and on. He did tell me that when I get over 30,000 that this engine will likely have to be rebuild, but then again thats not really that expensive either. I didn't realize that air cooled engines don't last as long as liquid cooled ones till he was explaining the difference.

Wow drifter, I buy most of my parts from scrappydogscooters and have never had a problem with bad parts. I order my CVT belts from scooterbelt.com
I ride both of my 150's in commuter traffic and average speeds between 40 to 50mph. I have always run Castrol Syntec 10w-40 in them.

Can't believe how the miles stack up on these bikes. My two wheeler 150 has 28,000 now, and the Automoto has racked up 15,000 in a year of ownership. I still laugh at anyone who calls Chinese scooter junk or throwaway bikes. Mine have been pretty good to me for sure.

It almost sounds like your battery is to dead to start the bike or properly run the electronics. Could have a charging problem and ran your battery dead on the last right. Put it on a charger for a few hours and then see what happens. I bet everything will work normal until the bike kills it again.

NOPE only 8k on Chrissy, but then again i dont work, retired, so i dont have a 140 miles commute each day.
there quite a few ppl with that many miles, actually.
sea foam is a great thing to arse to your gas in the winter it absorbs the water that may collect and in the summer , same thing because of sweating, and it helps clean out that damn ethanol, I'll give it a try sometime, my gas never has time to collect water lol I fill up every evening when I get home since it only holds a gallon. It uses about .8 gallons for 70 miles of riding every day plus a few extra since I go out at lunch almost everyday.
