I just bought a CDI online, and ordered a DC type, as that is what I have. Received one that is smaller and appears to be AC. They told me it is a DC part. Question is, what happens if I hook it up and try it? Do I fry anything if it is wrong?

What is the NGK Iridium replacement for the NGK C7HSA Platinum plug? Scrappy Doc Scooters lists a CR7 but searching the web, there are many variations of CR7.

Oil

In remembering the recent forum on conventional vs synthetic oil use, I found an interesting item. I recently bought a new Troy-Built snowblower and it has a LCT engine produced in China. They recommend synthetic 0-30w oil. Must be China is starting to build better engines, or I am having a brain relapse. I am going to switch to synthetic this spring on my scooter. At 800 miles, it is broken in enough for the transition

Thanks Rich. Guess I can start using Rich also. Odd thing is, whenI typed it in the quick reply box, it was correct. Then I clicked to post it, and it puked. Any way, love my Patriot 150. In process of trashing all the emission crap. I did find some carb jets from my past life that I am going to investigate. Spent 30 yrs designing fuel systems for GM, and raced cars for some yrs, so I have accumulated a small warehouse of carb parts.

Enjoy that nice California weather. Here in western NY we probably have 4-6 weeks of winter yet. I won't ride untill the temp is at least 40. Too much black ice around here when the temp is in the mid to upper 30s.At least the snow melts now within a few days. Last weekends 15" storm is all but melted. Even then this city does not shut down for that little snow.

In NY First year is $25 for the plate, $17 for registration, and $6 for inspection. After that it is $23/yr. Insurance is $130/yr on my BMS Patriot 150/

Great tip! I definitely will use that method in the spring when I fire up my scooter. Beats cranking it for a couple of minutes.
