Just thought I would share one of my other very enjoyable 2 wheeled interest that gets 100+ miles per Gallon and has a very nice fun factor as well, I have 3 of these motorized bikes now I built 2 of them myself and bought another that someone else really messed up trying to build which i will fix and make a cool bike out of as soon as I have the time. Since we all have a liking for the 2 wheeled good MBG stuff I just thought I would share this on here as well, and if anyone is interested in doing one of these bikes just for fun and loads of attention from everyone you pass on the road cruising a bicycle at 30-35MPH just check out motorbicycling.com you can for sure find out all the info. you could ever want to know about building them on this forum and just like on here they are a great group of people to work with. I hope this is not too off topic here just wanted to share with you guys and gals. Shan Attachments:

Ok then I guess I had it back ackurds, I would need to go the next weight up with the sliders and not down , because the sliders will give me better low end even if they are 1 gram heavier than the original rollers were......if this is true then I would suppose that the 1 gram heavier slider would also possibly increase my top end slightly maybe 1-2 MPH?

Ok then, now I know what I need to do, I have a scale that measures grams, I use it for figuring postage for selling stuff on ebay sometime, and thanks for the redline info. I run about 7000rpm's @60 and 8000Rpm's @ around 65mph I normally cruise on the highway @ 50-60mph for that reason, dont want to spin it 8K for too long I only have 175 miles on it so far. Thak you very much for the great info. this will for sure help me get it going the way I want it too....
Thanks ALL.....! Shan

Thanks allyoop,
I read somewhere that if you have....15 gram rollers, that 13 gram sliders will net the same results top end with a much quicker takeoff because they have a broader range than the rollers do and engage differently because they slide up the ramps instead of rolling up the ramps in the variator and it was said that this effect will cause the ratio change to be much smoother and stop the to sudden ratio jump from the low range to the high which helps acceleration.
Is this true from your experience with the sliders or do you use them?

My scooter seems to shift into a high ratio very quickly and it really kills the low end takeoff power, I would like to go to the sliders instead of the rollers in my variator but I am unsure which ones I should go with, the only mods done to my scooter so far or the orange no limit +4 degrees timing advance CDI box and the orange high output coil, my scooyer tops out at about63 - 64 MPH according to speedomter, I want to be able to still cruise at around the 60MPH mark but I would really like to have a quicker accel. from a stand still. Is what I'm wanting to get done here possible? I have no idea what weight rollers come stock in my scooter so I am unsure which weight sliders I will need to order, so if some/or one of you guys or gals out there can give me some info. on this it will be very much appreciated. Thank you in advance, Shan Attachments:

I think the battery is about 2 years old and could be bad....? as for the spark plug I used a different plug than is in it to check spark and the spark was orange just the same, like I said in earlier post I put a new CDI and a new COIL on it to see if that would affect the spark, it made no difference still had weak orange spark that is why the only other thing I could think of would be the stator, I was looking at the stator on Scrappydog's site and it does state there that the stator is a very common part to go out on the chinese scooters, that is why I thought the stator would be the next step in trying to solve the weak fire issue. Thank you for the good advice, Shan

Hello, I am new to this forum and new to scooters in general, but I have run into an issue on a 50cc Velocity 21th scooter that belongs to my younger brother and thought maybe someone here could help me to either confirm my thoughts on the problem or possibly give me another idea to consider.
:Problem: The scooter battery started running down while just sitting over night, and then after a few days the scooter started getting harder and harder to start, and then now it will not start at all, battery is on charger and spins the engine over very good but it will not start, we have checked to make sure it is getting fuel and it is, we have changed the CDI box, and replaced the ignition coil as well, we checked to see if it is getting fire to the spark plug and it is...But....! the spark that is seen as the plug is firing is bright ORANGE in color and not a good blue spark like is normaly seen, so My thoughts are that the STATOR is the problem and the reason why the spark is ORANGE and weak and may be shorted some how which is also the cause of the battery going down over night.
Has anyone else had this issue and if so do you think that my idea on the stator being the problem is possibly right based on the test I have done so far.
Sorry this is kinda long, only way I knew how to explain it all out.
Thanks in advance for any help received on this, Shan
