Here's another dealer that has great prices and good customer service, I bought my scoot from them and got a very quick delivery and several follow up calls to make sure that all was well and that I had the scooter in good shape, I would buy from them again no question about it. www.scooterdepot.us/index.html

yea thats pretty cool Bashan, but very complicated for the use on a scooter and I'm sure it requires a lot more power to run that system than it does a belt drive set up, seems that would be a low rpm industrial type set up not anything that could be exposed to the eliments such as any dust and such. but neat all the same, cool find.

Thanks JR, the thing that stuck out to me is the statement "There seems to be a charging problem" this is what lead me to think that if no charge and no headlight and headlight runs off stator exclusively then it would seem to be a stator issue, but as you pointed out above I guess maybe I missed some of what was posted about the problem......go get-em Dr.JR I know your good at this stuff...! Based on what I have read here so far I would say that if you are correct and the head light does work strictly off the charging system (Stator) when engine is running and the other lights are tied into direct current from battery when the ignition switch is on and your charging system is as discribed in your first post "There seems to be a charging problem" it seems to me that you have just about solved your problem here, if headlight isnt working and stator isnt charging battery, you either have bad connection between stator and headlight and battery or stator is fried, I would check all connections as Dr. JR has already said and then if those are all good, I would find a source for a new stator and find out if you will need a special puller for the flywheel or not and then I would go about replacing the stator, check for fuse or any open wire between stator and headlight/battery, if all good I say replace stator, thats most likely your problem.
Good Luck....hope you get this resolved quickly and it's easy to fix. Shan

Well, if she is still running strong after 3500 miles and it has done it sense it was new I would say it's probably ok, if it were a major issue in the engine it would have quit on you by now, I say just keep looking if it really bothers you but if it aint all that bad and you can live with what ever it is I say just ride the heck out of it and enjoy, if something falls off some day and the noise stops then I would say you found your moise maker....LOL Ride safe

Is it a pinging metal to metal sound or is it more of a low tone growling type knocking?
I ask because some of the knocking type sounds seem to be common on the 150cc GY6 engines mine makes what seems to be a knocking noise under hard acceleration but it is actually just a deep throaty almost knocking type sound that comes from the carb. and air cleaner when the engine is under a hard load at full throttle but as RPM's increase as well as speed the load is reduced on the engine and that sound starts to go away once a good speed is acheived, if the sound you are hearing gets louder and fatser as the engine revs then I would say you do have a mechanical problem or something is lose, but if the sound goes away when the engine levels out then I would not be worried about it because it is likely just the normal sound of the air being gulped into the carb while that little engine is under load.
Someone else may have another idea that I have missed here but you may not actually have an issue for worry unless it has never done it before and it just started the "Racket on a Hard Pull"
Is your scooter NEW or do you have some miles on it? Shan

I'm wondering that myself, I know they do have some very nice digital dash components and the ignition switch is completely different than any I have seen, the Rodeo Model even has a manual choke pull knob that is mounted in the front dash panel and this is also not something I have seen on the normal China scooter, if they are China made they for sure have some upgrades in some areas, all the models I looked at have a 125cc engine instead of the most common 50cc or 150cc GY6, they dont have the nice aluminum wheels and even the tires dont have the tread pattern of the most widely used on the China bikes, I havent looked real hard into them so I'm not sure what they are, I just came across the info. and thought I would pass it along for curiosity sake. I may dig a little deeper now and see what I come up with...

I have considered this manifold, did not know about the alum. one at Buggy Parts bbut I was unsure about it, I may try one of the higher intakes now just to see what increase if any are noticed from the extra air volume. 4 1/4" GY6 MANIFOLD

I really like your "FRANKENSCOOT" looks like you kinda got you a TUNNEL RAM intake with all that extra air volume, and now running down the road you have a slight RAM AIR set up too, just keep it up and before long you will be getting out the mig welder and building yourself a wheelie bar for the back........LOL now all you need is to put a small little NOS set up on it and BAM you'll darn near be air born.......! here's a link to a little kit for ya....... www.piratecycles1.com/nikitw5re.html
